The words loud and aggressive only begin to scratch the surface of this proto-punk free jazz band; Borbetomagus sets forth a sonic squall that obliterates, and woe to the listener who comes to one of their concerts not knowing what to expect. While participants on the downtown New York free improv scene have long thrived on chaos and extremes in volume and timbre, none of them got there before this upstate New York ensemble.
Borbetomagus has been pursuing their noisy muse since the late ’70.
Saxophonists Jim Sauter and Don Dietrich were childhood friends; after meeting and sitting in with guitarist Donald Miller’s band in New York City, the three formed Borbetomagus. Throughout the ’80s and a good part of the ’90s, the group issued dozens of recordings on their own and other labels. Avant-rocker Thurston Moore is a fan/collaborator; he substitutes for Miller on one release. In the 2000s, the band still performs, though infrequently.

Atom™ (also known as Atom Heart and often confused with Señor Coconut, real name Uwe Schmidt) is a German composer, musician and record producer of electronic music. He is often regarded as the father of electrolatino, electrogospel and aciton (acid-reggaeton) music.
Uwe Schmidt’s « Rather Interesting » label remains his largest unified body of work. To date, R.I. alone has over 46 full-length releases under numerous aliases and styles, of which most of them are written, recorded, mixed and mastered by Schmidt himself. Additionally, Schmidt handles all the label management and most all of the album artwork and design.
Remixes for Les Baxter, Perez Prado, Jamie Lidell, Plaid and Japanese superstar Kumi Koda have been continuing to garner attention for Uwe Schmidt.

Starting from radical improvisation, the band achieves to forge asound which, today, is built on strong rock textures, guitar and drums based, on which a fluxus of outer sounds (old movies, old vinyls cut ups, noise streams and real time audio manipulations) ties and rages.
In 2007 they release their self titled debut album, scarcely 30 minutes between noise and kraut rock, the themes being glorious (La Resistenza against fascism) and
dark(’60 and ’70 state terrorism) moments of contemporary italian history.
In 2009, with the second album “COMUNICATO N.2”, the music gets more brutal and heavy, while the band gives voice back to those who have tried to revolt against the inhuman capitalist world order.
From 2007 to these days, Fuzz Orchestra has been playing live restlessly in Italy and Europe.

I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.

All the best.

Dear all,

I am booking some dates for JOEY BARON and UNE FILLE POUR LE DIABLE

Availability: 4th and 5th October
Territory: Europe

Availability: from mid November onwards
Territory: Europe

Drummer Joey Baron was born into a Jewish working class family in Richmond, Virginia.
He is largely self-taught by means of watching others play and listening to recordings, radio and television. His early influences ran the gamut from Ed Sullivan show guests, to « The Wild Wild West » television show theme to records by Art Blakey, Ray Charles, Booker T. & the M.G.’s, James Brown, The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix.
Besides being a member of the Bill Frisell Band for ten years until 1995, he has performed and recorded with an impressive list of musicians – including Carmen McRae, Dizzy Gillespie, Tony Bennett, Hampton Hawes, Chet Baker, Laurie Anderson, Art Pepper, Stan Getz, Lee Konitz, Joe Lovano, Vinicus Cantuaria, Jay McShann, David Bowie, The Los Angeles Philharmonic, Big Joe Turner, Philip Glass, John Abercrombie, Mel Lewis, Pat Martino, Harry Sweets Edison, David Sanborn, Al Jarreau, Jim Hall, Randy Brecker, Marian McPartland, John Scofield, Marc Johnson and The Lounge Lizards.
Joey has lead his own trios one with John Medeski and Marc Ribot; and « Barondown » which featured Ellery Eskelin (saxophone) and Josh Roseman (trombone). « Barondown » recorded three albums – Crackshot (Avant), RAIsed Pleasure Dot (New World) and Tongue in Groove (JMT).

Arno Bruil born in 1971, lives & works in Rennes (France).
He attended film school in his younger years and playing music since 2000. he performs regularly (concert halls, art galleries, artists’ studios) across Europe and has been an experimental music curator for ten years.
He’s also 1/3 of France sauvage, 1/2 of Femme & 1/1 or 1/2 of Une fille pour le diable.
Use of modular synthesizers & sequencers, turntables… Some electronics.
A sonic biotope settles. An electric habitat for many species, drones, sines, colored waves… some audio loops, soon reterritorialized as welcome trails on this unheard topology, gradually losing any meaning it might have evoked at first.
And the hike goes in many directions, frantic or erratic, guided by intensity lines that draw the delicate and rough shapes of an emerging world.
In return, narration is dim, not essential. While parallel stories may happen, there is nothing choral, it is pure exploration.
Sometimes a distorded voice comes haunting, like an intimate bridge into this world. Humanizing and alienating at the same time. It may lead the listenner through structuring rites, or leave him alone rambling under wild electric winds. Whatever chaos had emerged, the intuition of a powerful cosmology, free of ethics, arises, balancing cycles of life and death, be it in noise or silence.
A fascinating journey.

Thanks for reading.

Please get back to me if you’re interest setting up a gig for one of these artists.

All the best.

Dear all,

I am booking some dates for: SPETTRO FAMILY, LEE NOBLE, NOVELLER.

SPETTRO FAMILY (Italy) [1] [2] [3]
Availabilities: 20th, 21st, 22nd November
Territory: Belgium

Availability: 3rd or 4th November
Territory: Belgium

Availability: 3rd or 4th November
Territory: Belgium

The band’s music is both eerily familiar and strikingly unique, blending together a strange mixture of primitive industrial music that echoes the like of early Coil and Throbbing Gristle, and a wonderfully creepy synthesizer sound that seems to heavily draw from the vintage 80’s horror soundtracks from John Carpenter, Fabio Frizzi and Italian prog-rockers Goblin. You could throw on any of their recordings and be instantly reminded of the surreal nightmares of early 80’s era Argento and Fulci films.
There’s a new “carpentercore” player in town, and his name is Spettro Family (real name: Stefano Iannone). But in addition to wonderfully polished and balanced 80’s-styled synth vignettes, Spettro adds some of the occultism and outer limits mystery which appears to be the staple of Brave Mysteries label.

Lee Noble blends droning lullabies into an artistic stew of eerie, yet inviting melody on his debut vinyl release, Horrorism. Deeply personal and wildly humbling, Horrorism is a vast chasm of introspective churning. Conjuring the spirit of some sort of homegrown and low-pass filtered Radiohead on downers, yet sewn to the hip of modern atmospheric-champions a la Grouper and Sean McCann.
This is entirely its own creature, caressing various spots in the brain; both abysmal and blissful. Noble has crafted a 100% viable album, a true masterpiece in its own world. With Horrorism, Noble brings his compositions to life with class and depth, molding a beautiful, emotional release.

Noveller is the solo electric guitar project of Brooklyn-based composer and filmmaker Sarah Lipstate. Handling the guitar as her muse, Lipstate summons a sonic palette so rich as to challenge the listener to conceive of how it’s housed in a single instrument manipulated by a solitary performer. Her one-woman guitar soundscapes have captured the attention of NPR, The Village Voice, Time Out New York, and The Wall Street Journal.
She released her first two full-length albums on Brooklyn noise label No Fun Productions in 2009. In 2010, Lipstate started her own imprint, Saffron Recordings, as a vehicle for releasing the Noveller full-length ‘Desert Fires’ and a split LP between Noveller and unFact (David Wm.
Sims of the Jesus Lizard) titled ‘Bleached Valentine’. In May 2011, she released the critically acclaimed ‘Glacial Glow’ jointly through Saffron Recordings and Weird Forest. Her newest full-length, ‘No Dreams’, came out on October 22nd , 2013 on Important Records.

I hope to hear from you asap.

All the best.

ear all,

I’m booking some dates for ED SCHRADER’S MUSIC BEAT and WHITE LUNG.

Availability: 4th November
Territory: Belgium

Availability: 22nd November
Territory: Belgium/Brussels

Ed Schrader’s Music Beat are Ed Schrader and Devlin Rice – a minimalist punk duo from the fair city of Baltimore, Maryland.
In the beginning there was only Ed: a man unhinged, channelling to the world a sacred message in the form of song. His only divining instruments: a single floor tom, one light, and a commanding baritone. « He’s a master songsmith who has reduced pop and punk to their most basic building blocks, » said Christopher Weingarten of the Village Voice.
Ed was soon joined by Devlin on bass, who proved to be an acute match for encapsulating the space-time from whence they came.
Their union quickly brought about the release of their 2012 debut album ‘Jazz Mind’ through Upset The Rhythm (and Load Records in the US), which The Wire magazine said recalled « the percussion-heavy chants of Liars », with Ed « affecting a mournful Arthur Russell tone on the a cappella songs » whilst « roaring like Rollins » on the album’s faster numbers.
The album (featuring collaborations with Matmos and Randy Randall of No Age) captured their raw and jarring live show through weird, wiry rock songs with a decidedly smart sensibility. Since then, Ed Schrader’s Music Beat have toured frequently in North America and Europe, notably alongside their friends Dan Deacon and Future Islands, as well as hardcore luminaries Ceremony.

White Lung is a Canadian punk rock band formed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in 2006.[3] They first attained recognition as one of the standout acts involved with the Vancouver Emergency Room scene.[citation needed]. Exclaim! named the band’s first full length album It’s the Evil as 2010’s punk album of the year.[4]
The band was nominated for Punk/Hardcore Artist/Group of the Year at the 2011 Canadian Music Week Indie Awards.[5] Their second album, Sorry, was released 29 May 2012 to critical acclaim from Spin,[6] Pitchfork,[7] Magnet,[8] Exclaim![9] and Rolling Stone.[10]
White Lung released their third studio album, Deep Fantasy, on June 16, 2014. The band is now signed to Domino Recording Company.

Have a nice week end.

Dear all,

I’m booking some dates for the following bands: ORDRE ETERN + COAGUL, GUERILLA TOSS.

Availability: November 2014
Territory: Europe

COAGUL (Spain)
Availability: November 2014
Territory: Europe

Availability: 14th November
Territory: Belgium

ORDRE ETERN is formed by the members of ex psychedelic noise band
Qa’a, Víctor Hurtado and Yarei Molina. They modify drums and guitar
to ressemble metallic percussions and debris and together with
tímpani and soviet synthesisers create a desolate mechanical
nightmare. The music is guided by visceral vocals sung in Catalan and
Spanish that portray dystopian themes and reflect on the duality of
human nature. The band are touring Europe together with fellow Màgia
Roja artist Coàgul in November to present their first album which
premiered at Sónar festival in Barcelona last June. Hurtado, on his
part, also has projects and has collaborated with artists such
WOUND under his solo moniker Huan.

COÀGUL is the musical moniker of visual artist Marc O’Callaghan.
With synth, vocals and bells he creates minimalist industrial music
which at the same time seems medieval, almost rural, with chants and
proclamations of lyrics from dark esoteric poems in Catalan. With an
aesthetic between black metal and DAVID TIBET, his themes are plagued
with ancestral Mediterranean symbology, references to Tarot,
surrealism and old secrets, and through all this he still manages to
sound punk. His live shows are ritualistic and primal combined with
animations of his visual artworks. Coàgul is touring Europe with
fellow Màgia Roja artists Ordre Etern in November to present his
first vinyl LP « La Roda de la Justícia ». He has performed at many
concerts and festivals in Spain including MEM ( Bilbao, 2013), CCCB
(Centre of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona) and Sónar (Barcelona,

Birthed from the depths of the sweaty basements of Boston,
Massachusetts, deranged rock outfit Guerilla Toss is nowadays considered
to be a New England underground staple by the freaks and weirdos that
inhabit the region. The band has churned out numerous cassettes,
records, and CDs in the past two years on on labels such as Feeding Tube
Records, John Zorn’s Tzadik, Sophomore Lounge, and Digitalis Ltd. By
touring relentlessly and providing their audience with an unforgettably
intense live show that demands, and encourages, ravaging physical body
movement of the listener, ‘Gtoss’ has quickly garnered a cult following
of loyal servants. Their newest record, Gay Disco, is an album that
draws influence from new wave and no wave dance music, extreme dementia,
drug problems, and absurdist humor. However, in the midst of the chaos,
it is clear that the compositions are well-crafted and spout from the
minds of educated individuals while avoiding the common esoteric
pitfalls that could be associated with their sound. Kassie Carlson’s
ferocious vocals run the gamut of the human voice, blasting with jet
engine shrieking and boiling over with urgency, while at the same time
presenting a demented and direct spoken narrative with surreal
conversational lyrics. Peter Negroponte’s full force drumming spews
forth alongside her like a tentacled beast, battling off fits of rage
and panicking between four-on-the-floor dance beats and controlled,
pounding trashcan thrash. Guitarists Simon Hanes and Arian Shafiee duel
to the death with angular and jagged riffs ping-ponging between each
other while keeping pace with dancey stabs of clanging string shrapnel.
As messy as it sounds, Hanes’ fuzzed and scuzzed bass jamming still
retains heaps of thick, gooey funk in the purest sense, which perfectly
compliments Shafiee’s masterful axe work that manages to shape-shift
seamlessly between hardcore rawness, jazzy meanderings, and squealing
noise rock pepperings. That glue that binds is Ian Kovac’s synth work,
which adds a healthy dose hyperactive danceability and electronic
flourishing that contributes to the album’s overall doped-up disco
flavor. Gtoss succeeds in using the power of dissonance, aggression, and
disorientation to derail the dancefloor in a record that captures the
essence of a high-energy live band in its loudest, rawest recording to

Dear all,

I’m booking a few dates for PETER WALKER, MONTE ISOLA, DAVID BIRCHALL.

Availability: Two first weeks of November
Territory: Belgium

MONTE ISOLA (France/Belgium) [3] [4] [5]
Availability: On request after the Summertime
Territory: Europe

Availability: From mid November onwards
Territory: Europe

Peter Walker is an American original, as eclectic and enigmatic as the songs he writes. The legendary seventy-five year old raga/psychedelic/folk acoustic guitarist, who was schooled by masters such as Ravi Shankar, and Ali Akbar Khan, has been described by Larry Coryell as, “One of the most original practitioners of contemporary music” and proclaimed by the Beatles’ press agent Derek Taylor as “Perhaps the greatest guitarist in the world.” His music, celebrated by the late Jack Rose, James Blackshaw, Steffen Basho-Junghans, Thurston Moore, and Greg Davis, all contributed original compositions to the 2006 tribute album, A Raga For Peter Walker. In the mid-‘60s, while musical director to Timothy Leary’s LSD explorations, Walker released the classic Rainy Day Raga LP in 1966, and 1968’s influential Second Poem to Karmela or Gypsies Are Important, both on Vanguard Records. Following that, he disappeared from recording for almost forty years, but never stopped practicing, learning, reaching

M O N T E I S O L A is the solo project initiated by Myriam Pruvot,
vocalist and self-taught musician. A first album, which combines field
recording and songwriting, Niebla, was released in 2013 on the label
Wild Silence. Partnering with various musicians over Brussels
concerts, M O N T E I S O L A is now a duet with Sarah Foulquier,
violin. Together they explore a place of curiosity to the peripheries
(weird music and popular melodies, tunes and noises). A quest for
meaning and intensity, which questions the distance and time, all
forms of wandering, vacillation.

I am a musician living in Manchester.
I play the guitar. I also like playing objects, making things and drawing.
In recent times I’ve made sounds solo and with Chastity Potatoe, Desmadrados Soldados de Ventura, Levenshulme Bicycle Orchestra, Kalbakken, Andrew Cheetham, Sam Andreae, Rogier Smal, Olie Brice, Toby Delius, Mark Sanders, Richard Scott, Philip Marks, Rhys Chatham and many other wonderful musicians.
Music I have made has been broadcast on BBC1, BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6 Music and Resonance FM.
I have also worked with dancers, performers, filmmakers and visual artists in The Lowry Theatre, Salford, The Greenroom, Manchester, Castlefield Gallery, Manchester, Whitworth Gallery and the Arnolfini, Bristol.
I teach the guitar privately and have run sound art/improvising/instrument building workshops for various organisations including Z Arts, Bury Library Service, Unity House, Manchester NHS, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival and the Tour De France.

Thanks for reading.

Please get in touch with me if you’re interested in one or more of these artists.

All the best.

Dear all,

I’m booking some dates for COH and ROBERT TURMAN

COH (Russia)
Availability: all week-ends from early September onwards
Territory: Europe

Availability: 15th, 16th, 30th, 31st August + 1st September
Territory: Europe

van pavlov aka COH was born in russia. he was trained as an acoustic engineer when serving in the russian navy. today he lives in sweden working as a freelance programmer. his cultural roots are in his country of birth feeling closer ties to russian avantgarde than to western music tradition. his early as well as current works were released on raster-noton. ivan pavlov runs his own label wavetrap.

Turman’s use of tape loops is everywhere and nowhere at once; the loops themselves are often the bedrock for these gently shifting melodic excursions, but are never showy or obtrusive. “Reflux” uses loops simply, to great effect–the composition begins minimally, with interlocking looped tones playing off each other. An ominous, expanding drone rises from the structure of the original loops and carries the drifty bliss away, turning into a decidedly gloomier middle segment, before the original loops (recontextualized now amid the darker textures) emerge and reestablish their presence. A smart and unpredictable piece all the way. Following this is “the Unforgiven”, a bleak and slow-moving landscape of pure sadness that functions as the LP’s centerpiece for me. I find it hard to put into words what is so affecting about this piece–but its hypnotic simplicity and sheer sonic obsessiveness are gripping every time I hear it.

Enjoy your w-e.

I hope to hear from you asap.
