……………………………………………………………………………………

DOPPLEREFFEKT
nimitable electro duo Dopplereffekt are one of the most mysterious and consistently challenging entities in electronic music. Originated by Gerald Donald, one-half of Drexciya and also performing as Heinrich Müller/Der Zyklus/Japanese Telecom/Arpanet, Dopplereffekt recently resurfaced with 2013′s Tetrahymena EP on Leisure System as well as the wildly well-received split Hypnagogia 12″ with Objekt, also on Leisure System. Moving from their earlier electro sound into otherworldly synth experiments, Dopplereffekt inhabit an unique contemporary sonic world, with their arpeggiated melodies and one-of-a-kind visual show fitting as well in seated art spaces and non-traditional venues as a unique twist to major club nights or festival stages.

…………………………………………………………………………………….

CHRIS GALARRETA and JANNEKE VAN DER PUTTEN
The acoustic architecture of a specific space are explored through its surrounding sounds, subtle acoustic phenomena and the human voice. Resonances and reverberations are emphasized and prolonged through vocal interaction with sound space and not-conventional different microphone techniques. In this project Galarreta & van der Putten want to make the acoustic reflections audible, more than the direct source that generate it. The frequencies, amplitude, modulation of sound textures, as well as the breathing voice rhythm, the position of the microphones and its types, are responding to the qualities of the chosen site and its acoustic characteristics.

I hope to hear from you as soon as possible.

Regards.

Alain

BOOKING OFFERS: DIATRIBES, FEMME

Posted in Uncategorized on octobre 27, 2014 by debloque

Dear all,

I am booking some dates for DIATRIBES and FEMME.

DIATRIBES (Switzerland)

Availability: March 2015
Territories: Belgium, The Netherlands, France

FEMME (France)
http://arnobruil.org/index.html
Availability: From mid February 2015 onwards…
Territory: Europe

DIATRIBES
Diatribes, the Geneva based duo, continues his exploration of simplification and rational rituality, and presents a couple of new pieces tighted together by strict sonic or structural principles. Highly detailed textures, repeated gestures, soft tones, febrile pulses and acoustic hyper-sensibility, pushing one step ahead the ideas they’ve exposed in their previous album « Augustus ».
The duo, two improvisors working as complementarity since 2004, after a voracious youth exploring free jazz, noise, musique concrête and free improv, and many collaborations with international musicians such as Magda Mayas, Bertrand Gauguet, Robin Hayward, Dominic Lash, Partick Farmer, Derek Shirley and Hannah Marshall, Barry Guy, Keith Rowe, amongst others, has chosen to focus on a rather introverted process of creation. During the past year they have inte! nsely toured across Europe and beyond. (archive here).
Cyril Bondi and d’incise are both very active in the Swiss experimental scene, leading the Insub Meta Orchestra, a very large ensemble, and created in the INSUB. label, netlabel & association (since 2006, as Insubordinations). Their unstoppable energy led them to build a strong network around these activities. They have other bands together, including Queixas (with Abdul Moimême) and a subbass quartet (with Derek Shirley and Dragos Tara), and other occasional collaborations.
Cyril plays solo and with the post-jazz trio Plaistow and d’incise plays solo, works on electro-acoustic set-ups and compositions, and does graphic designs.

FEMME
The celebration of electricity – nothing more, nothing less the contradiction between conventions and the updated true concerning electrons displacement field recording from the inside of your integrated circuits the crackling of internal life of your remote control

Please get in touch with me if want to set up a gig for these artists.

Thank you.

Regards.

BOOKING OFFERS: AKI ONDA, SHARON GAL & ANDIE BROWN, CUMMI FLU

Posted in Uncategorized on octobre 23, 2014 by debloque

Dear all,

I’m booking some dates for: AKI ONDA, SHARON GAL & ANDIE BROWN, CUMMI FLU

AKI ONDA (Japan)

Availability: 26th, 27th February 2014
Territory: Europe

SHARON GAL & ANDIE BROWN (UK)

Availability: from mid February 2015 onwards
Territory: Europe

CUMMI FLU (Germany)

Availability: from mid February 2015 onwards
Territory: Europe

AKI ONDA
Aki Onda is an electronic musician, composer, and visual artist. He is particularly known for his Cassette Memories project – works compiled from a “sound diary” of field-recordings collected by Onda over a span of two decades. Onda’s musical instrument of choice is the cassette Walkman. Not only does he capture field recordings with the Walkman, he also physically manipulates multiple Walkmans with electronics in his performances. In another of his projects, Cinemage, Onda shows slide projections of still photo images, shot by himself, as a performance or installation. Onda has collaborated with artists such as Michael Snow, Ken Jacobs, Paul Clipson, Alan Licht, Loren Connors, MV Carbon, Oren Ambarchi, Noël Akchoté, Jean-François Pauvros, Jac Berrocal, Lionel Marchetti, Linda Sharrock, and Blixa Bargeld.

SHARON GAL & ANDIE BROWN
Sharon Gal is a UK experimental vocalist, performer, artist and improviser. She performs solo and in collaborations with Alex Ward, Steve Beresford, Steve Noble and Phil Minton. She is involved with London¹s Resonance 104.4 FM and has produced and presented radio shows, including the acclaimed DIGGERS with Sav X.
ndie Brown began playing music as a bassist before developing These Feathers Have Plumes in 2007. She creates sonic landscapes using traditional and non-traditional instrumentation including, glass, double bass, found-sound and field recordings. Andie frequently collaborates with others including Sharon Gal; Adam Bohman and Part Wild Horses Mane on Both Sides.

CUMMI FLU
Cummi Flu is the latest persona of ever morphing, multi-media illusionist Oliver Doerell. Originating from Brussels, the analogue-electronic pioneer has been the driving force behind earlier incarnations Dictaphone and SWOD, as well as embodying the Odd Orchestra of Raz Ohara. Well-versed in downbeat electronics, Cummi Flu sees Doerell explore his acid-laced visions of psychedelic forms and frequencies.
The first recordings present a collection of sound collage cut-ups based on home-made instruments with self-tuned rubber bands and bass kalimba at its beating heart. The resulting tracks are an exploration into otherworldly rhythms with the rise and fall of a swollen tide.
Cummi Flu produces a hard to place sound, while at the same time preying on ancient feelings of estrangement, sanctuary and self-exploration.

Thank you for reading.

I hope to hear from you as soon as possible.

Regards.

BOOKING OFFERS: ARRINGTON De DIONYSO, XAVIER DUBOIS

Posted in Uncategorized on octobre 20, 2014 by debloque

Dear all,

I’m booking some dates for ARRINGTON DE DIONYSO and XAVIER DUBOIS

ARRINGTON DE DIONYSO (USA)
http://arrington.bandcamp.com/album/unheard-indonesia-volume-4-singo-budoyo
Availability: Between 28th Novemeber and 1st December
Territory: Europe

XAVIER DUBOIS (Belgium)
http://www.soundcloud.com/xavier-dubois
Availability: On request
Territory: Belgium

ARRINGTON DE DIONYSO
Arrington de Dionyso (b. January 4th 1975) makes trans-utopian world music for a world that exists in fever dreams and hallucinations. Using performance and visual art, he traverses the nameless territories held between surrealist automatism, shamanic seance, and the folk imagery of rock and roll. He clarified his eccentric brew of ecstatic lunacy and prophetic madness during his 15 year tour-of-duty with Olympia’s Old Time Relijun (1995-2009).
De Dionyso’s most recent project, Malaikat dan Singa, is a trance-punk outfit featuring bass clarinet, guitars, multiple drummers and his trademark wild vocals (multi-spectral harmonic throatsinging combined with grunts, yelps, and barks) often sung in Indonesian. Malaikat dan Singa translates as “Angels and Lions,” and de Dionyso’s lyrics (both Indonesian and any other language he chooses to ply) fiercely combine mythology and fantasy. As a band Malaikat dan Singa ultimately defies a clean translation gaining power by crossing boundaries — both linguistic and psychic.
Arrington tours constantly both with Malaikat dan Singa and as a versatile solo artist. His visual art has been featured in exhibitions in Italy, New York City, Washington DC and Portland, Oregon and published in Yeti magazine, Prism Index and The Stranger. Arrington has staged his 24-Hour Drawing Performance at a variety of gallery spaces and other unusual spaces throughout the globe, in which he combines musical performance and video screenings with a live drawing marathon.

XAVIER DUBOIS
In parallel with his activities as a guitar player for Ultraphallus, Y.E.R.M.O and the duo he forms with the poet Vincent Tholomé, Xavier Dubois takes a totally different direction with an instrumental album, entirely dedicated to the guitar. Xavier developed his own language in which he mixes compositions with improvisation, creating space for intimate melodies, not afraid of taking risks.
Sunset Gluts is an album on which folk, blues and experimental music come together, and it contains 16 mixed pictures, oscillating between impressionist beauty and cinematographic atmospheres. The songs, sometimes very short ones, follow each other like drawings in a comic book. Exploring alternately the electric guitar, the prepared guitar and the baritone ukulele, Xavier takes the listener on an internal journey where the ghosts of John Fahey, Marc Ribot or Fred Frith are summoned.

I really hope to hear from you as soon as possible.

All the best.

Alain

BOOKING OFFERS: oMMM, MARC BARON, ANAL+

oMMM

Edmund Davie’s oMMM project ventures deep into the murky realms of cassette experimentation, with his latest release on the Alien Jams label, called Parallel Lines Converge. Cassette collage and drum machine rhythms are channeled through a trusty four track, sounds that seem to belong to some distant cosmological order. Noise synths and casiotone are drenched in tape hiss, rising to intoxicating proportions, adding yet another hazy veil to oMMM’s work. With as much attention paid to eerily buzzing soundscapes as overloaded drum sequences, oMMM navigates a vast expanse of sonic no-man’s land, all the while teetering on the brink of madness.

ANAL+

ANAL + is born out of the founding speech from Antonin Artaud: « Where it smells like shit, it smells like human being! » as a metaphor for the timeless revolt of mankind. Based on this, on the “body without organs”, quoting French philosopher Gilles Deleuze, all experiments become possible and Anal + does not hesitate to explore the endless meanderings of experimentation!

And indeed, this album entitled « Artaud + » appears as very diverse traveling cheerfully from EBM to No Wave through dub and psyche!

All this sprinkled with historical references to Marcel Duchamp, Alfred Jarry, Kurt Schwitters and JFK, referring in particular to a current criticism of the new potential dictators – no need to name them!

After playing in Brussels (Recyclart, Central Café, Nights of Beauty Tas, Mariners, Collectif du Quai, Chaff, ..), Charleroi (Rockerill), Liège, Berlin and recently in Paris (Belgian New Year), ANAL + is back in good shape!

Composed by Jean-Jacques Duerinckx (baritone sax, electronics) and Pierre-Jean Vranken (guitars, samples), this atypical duo will actually perform on October 22 at 7:30 p.m. at MAGASIN 4 (Avenue du Port in Brussels next Tours and Taxis ) to present his first album with a promising future.

MARC BARON

There are the sounds that I gather, those that I make up, there is all that I settle before with protocols and that I deploy.

And above all, there is what comes here, to my ears, sometimes by accident, when the material is worked on in the studio, by the tape itslef, by the microphone. In the beginning.

I am not interested in any sound more than any other, I simply go where I think I feel something and I deepen. The form that it takes (broadcasting, performance, record) depends essentialy on the music itself. When it makes sense, the context or the space of the broadcast can determine the facts. The complexity of qualities, their assembling, is the core of my music ; seized between a semblance of realism and the desire for the greatest vagueness. I search for a tension.

Thank you for reading.

All the best.

Alain

FULL BLAST
Peter Broetzmann (Germany, reeds) – the living legend of the European new jazz.
He has exemplified European improvised music for over 40 years and participated in countless international collaborations.
A founder of European Free Jazz movement, his work includes collaborations and recordings with Last Exit (with Bill Laswell, Sonny Sharrock and Ronald Shannon Jackson), Evan Parker, Misha Mengelberg, and Borah Bergman. Recent projects include Die Like a Dog (with William Parker, Hamid Drake and Toshinori Kondo), his homage to Albert Ayler, the Chicago-based Broetzmann Tentet and many more.
His first album Machine Gun released in 1968 still represents the reference for the musicians and critics. Considering his 40-years-career and more than 100 albums, but also many current projects, Broetzmann is still one of the most influential figures of the new music.
Wertmueller and Pliakas worked together on various occasions (touring together in various bands on festivals all over Europe e.g.
SKIF-Festival St.Petersburg/Russia, Kaunas Jazzfestival/Lithuania, RingRing Festival Belgrade/Serbia, Nozart Festival Cologne/Germany, Xperipheria Budapest/Hungary, Long Arms Festival Moscow/Russia, Cross-linX festival Enschede and Utrecht/Netherlands, Festival Victoriaville/Canada, Sound Forest Riga, Clubtransmediale Berlin, Ultraschall Berlin, MaerzMusik Berlin, etc. together with Peter Broetzmann, Caspar Broetzmann, Stephan Wittwer, John Cale, Holger Csukay, Marian Gold, Mouse on Mars, Jaki Liebezeit, KK.Null, Olaf Rupp, IVES #1, and others cooperation with Pliakas’ avant trio STEAMBOAT SWITZERLAND). Both of them toured world wide with their various bands
(MW: William Parker Trio, Alboth!, 16-17, W2 MP: steamboat switzerland, sludge 2000 etc.).

STEAMBOAT SWITZERLAND
The Swiss trio: energetic and innovative border crossers between Hardcore and Avantgarde – breath-taking, radical, exact.
The «Hammond Avantcore Trio» Steamboat Switzerland is a damn wild and absolutely virtuoso band. They tour worlwide and played a wide range of different festivals – from «Donaueschinger Musiktage» and «Moers Festival» to Patti Smith’s «London Meltdown Festival» etc.
The group combines elements from jazz, metal and contemporary scores.
The sounds exchange between «Dark Power Ambient» and «Boulez On The Rocks».

GOCOO
GOCOO are seven female and four male drummers who capture their audience with original grooves woven with Japanese drums, Taikos. On stage the 11 musicians from Tokyo create with almost 40 drums a music-spectacle beyond imagination. Music-wise GOCOO are one of the most sophisticated percussion groups of the present. The cosmic beats and uniquely complex poly-rhythms are of such primal nature that they reflect all known music styles and consequently unite people of all ages, ethnic and social origins and of any taste in music. No matter where GOCOO performs, at major World & Roots, Rock & Pop or alternative Music & Culture festivals, in live clubs, classic theatres and concert halls or at techno events, GOCOO takes all audiences on a mesmerizing trip between trance and ecstasy with their goose-bumps music.
GOCOO define themselves as a « Band » and while usual Taiko ensembles stoically pursue a traditional style, and while others seek new interpretations of traditional Japanese music, GOCOO’s beat exhibits free-spirited Taiko music, rising freely between the East and the West, tradition and pop, rite and party and hence appealing directly to the heart of a broad range of audiences. Although GOCOO’s music is often referred to as crossover or roots music, or even new terms such as
Techno- and Trance-Taiko are created to pay tribute to their unique rhythms, GOCOO successfully overcame any stereotyped concepts not only of Japanese drum music and reached their own, independent cult status.

Thanks for reading.

I look forward to hearing from you asap.

Regards.

Alain
