EWA JUSTKA
Ewa Justka is a Polish electronic noise artist based in London. She currently studies BA Sound Arts & Design at London College of Communication. She completed an internship in physical computing at STEIM, Amsterdam, where she was working on documentation of Black Box modular system.
Justka’s main field of research is based on exploration of materiality of objects, vibrant, ontological systems (human bodies, plants’ bodies, electronic circuits: varied range of micro and macro environments and relations between them) and an investigation of modes of quasi-direct perception through noise performance actions, interactive installation, DIY electronics, hardware hacking, plant-molesting, breaking, deconstructing and collaborating. In her artistic work Ewa attempts to explore the concept of materiality of objects through creation of prompt interactions between them.

ACTION BEAT & JW SOK
Action Beat are an improvisational instrumental noise rock act from Bletchley UK who usually perform with 3-4 drummers and an inordinate about of guitarists.
G.W. Sok (born 1957, real name Jos Kleij) is a Dutch singer, best known for his 30 year career as the frontman of the The Ex. G.W. Sok left The Ex in 2008 to focus on a solo career and collaboration projects with other musicians, participation in theatre performances and spoken word performances. Apart from his musical career he's also active as a writer and a graphic designer

STEFAN SCHNEIDER and SVEN KACIREK + JOHN McENTIRE
Kenya meets Krautronics! Under the auspices of the Goethe Institute and
Unesco, Stefan Schneider (To Rococo Rot, ex-Kreidler) and Sven Kacirek
(« The Kenya Sessions ») have spent a fair amount of time in Kenya in
recent years. As they travelled the country, they recorded rare,
traditional music in different locations. On « Shadows Documents » they
graft their acoustically gleaned impressions of Kenya onto pure
electronic templates (with analogue accents). A central role is played
by the repetitive, hypnotic element which is so integral to tribal music
with its complex rhythms. On « Shadows Documents » the drums mutate into a
sort of synthesizer instrument, almost subliminally melting into the
sound of other instruments as a virtual observer, adding a certain
nuance here and there, rather than performing a more catalytic function.
As a member of the soulful, jazz-tinged pop combo the Sea and Cake and post-rock/fusion quintet Tortoise, John McEntire has helped construct some of the most exciting indie rock of the late '90s. Along with producer Jim O'Rourke, he became one of the most consistently in demand collaborators of the time period. McEntire's gifts as a multi-instrumentalist, engineer, and mixer have been utilized by a staggering number of artists including the Red Krayola, Stereolab, Richard Buckner, Tom Ze, the Ex, Smog, Trans Am, and Mary Timony.

LITTLE BOB BLUES BASTARDS
Without mistake, one can only say what a legend Little Bob is regarding Rock'n'Roll History. Neither success, glory, hits, airplay nor homage could ever testify enough of his contribution to music.
Bob's been at it for a while, playing every armpit France has to offer with his legendary band called Little Bob Story, Bob even ventured to England (300 gigs) attracting the "gunslingers" of British rock critics, opening" the road as he traveled it, playing all around Europe, singing on every single stage on this road from Irish pubs to Hells Angels bars, from Universities to big Festivals. Literally setting venues on fire! Touring as if the fate of the free world depended on it.
Today, Little Bob leads a new band (since 5 years) “Little Bob Blues Bastards”
Little Bob cherishes the way of singing of classic rock and blues singers from Little Richard or Howling Wolf to Eric Burdon

YOSHIO MACHIDA + CONSTANTIN PAPAGEORGIADIS
After playing rock'n'roll bass and upright bass for 20 years, Constantin Papageorgiadis is today a well-known figure in the EMS Synthi world, on both musical and technical sides. He serviced tens of EMS instruments, including the IPEM's rare Synthi 100 in Ghent, and imagined an original way to expand their features that was great success and led him to be on regular and friendly touch with numerous Synthi users from around the world such as a.o. Alessandro Cortini, Jim O'Rourke, Peter Kember, Yvan Etienne, Bernard Filipetti... and of course Yoshio Machida.
Born in Japan in 1967 and currently based in Tokyo, Yoshio Machida describes himself as a trans-boundary sound and visual artist. He studied music and minimalist and cinematic arts.
He studied minimal art / music / film extensively under Kuniharu Akiyama, Yoshiaki Touno, Sakumi Hagiwara, Kishio Suga at Tama art university in Tokyo

ALEXANDER RISHAUG
Processed but spacious and acoustic textures made using a church organ and an electric guitar
Sound artist and musician Alexander Rishaug teams up with Sigbjørn Apeland (church organ) and Ivar Bjørnson (guitarist for Enslaved) for a special performance of his two pieces 'Ma.Org Pa.Git'. This spacious experimental, electronic drone recording explores the space, the acoustics and the mechanics of a church organ, and the hiss, overtones and feedback of an old tube amp and electric guitar

THE LOGOS WOMEN
The Logos Women are a flexible group of composers, performers, singers and musicians linked to the Logos Foundation. Using soundscapes (often made collectively) and many non-conventional instrumental and vocal techniques, they aim for intriguing play that produces a tight web of fascinating sound colours.
The group was founded by multi-disciplinary performer Moniek Darge and includes Françoise Vanhecke (composition and voice),
With this knowledge as a common ground they achieve on stage a non-verbal dialogue. During performance a spontaneous macro structure is developed, without any prior agreements. The motto being: listening to one another with open ears and acute sense of observation and to react to one another alertly. Using as many nonconventional instrumental techniques, they strive towards an intrigating play, whereby all sorts of new sounds are produced with traditional instruments. This produces a tight web of fascinating sound colours. Not melody, nor rhythm are central in this sort of interactional improvisation, although short rhythmical passages or tiny melodic fragments are not excluded.

SOFIA JERNBERG
Singer and composer, born in Ethiopia in 1983 and currently based in two cities: Oslo, Norway and Stockholm, Sweden. As a singer she is developing the “instrumental” possibilities of the voice. Sofia’s singing vocabulary includes sounds and techniques that often contradict a natural singing style. She has dug deep into split tone singing, pitchless singing and distorted singing.
“...it is the singing that is most impressive. Jernberg's vocal agility is sweeping, analogous, conceivably, to the range of sounds that Wadada Leo Smith can generate with the trumpet. She is a phenomenon that merits attention.”

SHARRON KRAUS
Sharron Kraus is a singer of traditional folk songs, a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. As well as drawing on the folk traditions of England and Appalachia, her music is influenced by gothic literature, surrealism, myth and magick. Her songs tell intricate tales of rootless souls, dark secrets and earthly joys, the lyrics plucked as sonorously as her acoustic guitar.

OBNOX
t's the newest latest from Bim Thomas' one man soul-punk bomb OBNOX, and Black Gladiator is psyched like a mug to be part of this expanding, dark dope cloud. This “Canabible Ohio” double 7” joint features five new tracks of dank punk stank with a level of pure b-boyism unfelt since the golden era of the Def Jam days. Dig “Deep In The Dusk (Redux)”* for the Jeep beat, replete with a broke ass MAGNETIX sample

AQUA DENTATA
Aqua Dentata is a solo project of Eddie Nuttall, a London-based artist. Working primarily with electronic and acoustic devices, Nuttall creates a dense tapestry of hypnotic drones and surreal textures, employing a refined and considered approach within a DIY framework.

AMM
First assembling in 1965, AMM is likely the longest running group in improvised music, though that near half-century is marked by dramatic changes, both in musical content and membership. Its constants through that time have been the percussionist Eddie Prévost and a commitment to improvised music built on close listening. Since 1980 the group's most frequent form has been the duo of Prévost and pianist John Tilbury.

KAWA BROTHERS
Kawa brothers are a Sufi traditionnelle musical group who hails from Jaipur, Rajasthan from India. They are from a famous musical family and have performed all over the world. They have two kinds of group. One is classical and another Sufi music.

I hope to hear from you asap.

All the best.

JEAN D.L./SANDRINE VERSTRAETE
Jean D.L. (Sub Rosa) and Sandrine Verstraete have developed their very own musical universe with noisy soundscapes generated by an exploratory guitar, cassette decay and voice… the universe is dark, melancholic, but the perspective is bright.

?ALOS
From 2006 to 2011 lives and works in Berlin, now lives in Ravenna (I)
Activ from 1998, she is a member of OVO and ALLUN.
?Alos is a musician and an experimental performer, from 2003 she melts these disciplines to create shows/performances in which live music is a basic element.
Her work surpasses the boundary between performing arts, integrating experimental music, performance, improvisation and video art and makes the audience participate actively in the show through the stimulation of the six senses.
The feminine figure is the basis of each performative action and its role both in history and in the contemporary society is critically investigated.

SQUADRA OMEGA
The trio draws heavy inspiration from German experimental rock music
of the late ’60s and early ’70s, exploring jazz rock, electronic
music, library music and movie soundracks – the world famous
spaghetti-sound.

ANNETTE KREBS
Annette Krebs lives and works in Berlin as a freelanced musician and composer. She is currently working in compositions for several loud speakers, for several loudspeakers and performers and in improvisation. In addition, she has multimedia collaborations with video artists. She is exploring the aesthetics and tension between tone and noise, action and silence, and the possibilitys of a dramaturgic free and abstract music. She has been researching the mixing of tones, noises, fieldrecordings and spoken language as musical materials. In her music, fragments of language are integrated as musical materials with tonal and rhythmic abstract instrumental sounds, noises and silence. She collaborated with many musicians and artists, and participated in concerts and festivals in- and outside of Europe.

KRIMINAL HAMMOND INFERNO

The Kriminal Hammond Inferno team sharpens its plan for global domination with Kriminal Dan (Vale Tudo Freefight drummer), Diabolix Sim (bankrupted steel industry magnat & organ addict) now joining forces with Doktor Konstantin Zoog (Hallucinated Fungi Farmer). They travel as an undercover band, mesmerizing audiences with subliminal brainwave parasite signals, hidden in pop tunes from the 17th century to 60’s & 70’s charts or obscure Italian Fumetti Soundtracks! EXPECT NO MERCY

SARAH HALGAN

Great-granddaughter and granddaughter of traditional singers, Sahra Halgan has been singing since the age of 13. Her voice accompanied by traditional percussions, electric guitar and drums, provides a harmonious blend of sounds from Somaliland and a modern orchestration. Sahra continues to sings to support the Somaliland diaspora worldwide. In a high intensity and always emotionally charged show, Sahra Halgan bears testament to her path with a disconcerting lightness. This great voice of East Africa and her incredible stage presence always has the gift of putting her concert audience in a good mood with shared smiles…

Thank you for reading.

Please get back to me as soon as possible if you’re interested in booking any of these artists/bands.

All the best.

Alain

……………………………………………………………………………………………

ANDREW LILES
Andrew Liles (born 1969, UK)[1] is a sound artist and multi-instrumentalist. He has a vast output of recordings that he has released since the mid-1980s, covering a variety of styles as experimental music, dark ambient music, progressive rock and even hints at hard rock.
Along with his solo work he has worked with many international artists including Bass Communion, Steven Stapleton, Darren Tate, The Hafler Trio, Karl Blake, Faust, Unsong, Nurse With Wound, Daniel Menche, Band of Pain, Lord Bath, Sion Orgon, Andrew King, Nick Mott, Current 93, Paul Bradley[disambiguation needed], Aaron Moore, Nigel Ayers, Irr. App (Ext), Jonathan Coleclough, Tony Wakeford, Frans De Waard, Freek Kinkelaar, Danielle Dax, Rose McDowall, Edward Ka-spel, Kommissar Hjuler & Mama Baer, vidnaObmana, ruse (British artist)

COLIN POTTER
Andrew Liles is a prolific solo artist, producer, remixer & sometime member of Nurse With Wound and Current 93. He has been recording since the mid 80’s & has appeared on well over 200 releases.

A WITNESS
Originally active in the mid-1980s alternative music scene in Britain, A Witness first made their mark as a drum machine-driven trio releasing a 12″ single ‘Loudhailer Songs’ [1985] and debut album ‘I am John’s Pancreas'[1986] to critical acclaim. This brought them to the attention of BBC Radio 1 disc jockey John Peel, for whom they recorded four sessions. Tours of the UK and Europe followed which established the band on the more angular side of mid-1980s music. Their career was brought to a halt with the death in 1989 of guitarist Rick Aitken in a climbing accident in Scotland. Founder member and songwriter Vince Hunt revived the band with a new line-up for a series of UK-wide dates in 2014 marking the 25th anniversary of Aitken’s death.[1] The band continues to play live.[

KING AYISOBA
This is the traditional kologo music from the Upper East Region of Ghana brought with the energy and flavor of the twenty first century.
King Ayisoba sings in Frafra, Twi and in English and is a big star in Ghana. There is a whole new scene now starting after King Ayisoba introduced the super catchy kologo beats to the bigger audiences in Ghana and abroad. The kologo is a two string guitar with a calabash gourd resonator, it is rhythmic and melodic at the same time. The King is bringing other musicians and dancers on this tour, dancing the traditional Frafra dia and kologo dances from the area of Bongo in Northern Ghana. The dance consists of very high jumbs and originates from hunting rituals. Aboku Adortanga (dancer and dorgo player) is King Ayisoba’s brother and is a master in playing the « Dorgo », a special horn from Northern Ghana used in the traditional Frafra tradition of music. The sound resembles a lamb calling out loud and was original used by the Frafra people in the forest to gather the village people to come and hunt. Gemeka is an absolute master in playing the guluku, a local drum from Bolgatanga Soko in Northern Ghana. Ayuune Sule plays the sinyaka, a kalebas filled with dry berries that sounds like a giant maracas and is thrown and hit in a magical way!
Traditionaly kologo performances occur at local pito bars, weddings, funerals, festivals or spontaneous jams on the street. Today we will see the force and spirit here, around the corner, learn wise lessons and dig up the future.

ZEA
Arnold de Boer deploying guitar and sampler for an almighty bout of crazily high energy songs – urgent lyrics over guitar, roughshod beats and grimy bass lines. Joyfully obstinate, wonderfully bonkers.

MOMUS
Nicholas Currie (born 11 February 1960), more popularly known under the artist name Momus (after the Greek god of mockery), is a songwriter, blogger and former journalist for Wired. Many of his songs are literary and could be classified as postmodern.
For nearly thirty years he has been releasing, to marginal commercial and critical success, albums on labels in the United Kingdom, the United States, and Japan. In his lyrics and his other writing he makes seemingly random use of decontextualized pieces of continental (mostly
French) philosophy, and has built up a personal world he says is « dominated by values like diversity, orientalism, and a respect for otherness. » He is fascinated by identity, Japan, Rome, the avant-garde, time travel and sex.

MOR KARBASI
Mor Karbasi is a singer-songwriter born in Jerusalem, and now based in Seville after five years in London.
One of her main projects is Ladino music, also known as Judezmo, Spanyolit, or Sephardic – the ancient language and music of the exiled Jews of Spain. She writes original material, as well as singing traditional songs. She has been compared to Mariza and Yasmin Levy, but has a strongly individual sound, whichever type of music she sings.
Karbasi’s heritage is mixed Moroccan and Persian, and according to her Moroccan Jewish grandfather, « the blood remembers, » meaning that before this her ancestors came from Spain. Her connection to this culture is expressed passionately through her music.

MIND OVER MIRRORS
MIND OVER MIRRORS, the evolving project of Jaime Fennelly and more recently, Haley Fohr of Circuit des Yeux, deploys modest acoustic constituent materials—an Indian pedal harmonium and the human voice—to produce roiling, meditative music that both simulates the swells and troughs of synthesized electronics and conjures the ceaseless rhythms of tidal surges. While we can point out referential sonic compass points—G.I. Gurdjieff’s harmonium improvisations; certain particularly harmonically viscous recordings of Sacred Harp singers; Edward Artemiev’s soundtracks to Tarkovsky films—in its prayerful patience, its simultaneously formal and folk aspects, and its unabashed (if intermittently anxious) beauty, it doesn’t sound much like anything else being made today. There is an easy, and unusual, confluence of praise and play at work in Jaime’s music that catalyzes heady reverie.

THE EX AND FENDIKA
The Ex and Ethiopian five-piece Fendika, the culmination of six years working together. It’s the latest in a long line of collaborations for the prolific Dutch punk outfit, who’ve previously worked with Sonic Youth, Tortoise, Getatchew Mekurya and most recently Brass Unbound.
‘Addis Hum’ is based on ‘Gue’, a traditional Ethiopian Gurage song.

MESSER CHUPS
Messer Chups is an experimental band from St. Petersburg, Russia. The band was founded by Oleg Gitarkin who had previously performed with Oleg Kostrow under the name of Messer für Frau Müller. Messer Chups is often considered a « spin-off » band of Messer für Frau Müller. The band was originally a duo of Gitarkin on bass guitar and Annette Schneider who played the synths. During 2000–2002 Messer Chups consisted of Gitarkin and Igor Vdovin on synth.
In 2003, the producer of Messer Chups and head of their home label Solnze Records, Oleg Tarasov, invited the world famous theremin player Lydia Kavina to join them. Together they have released several albums and reworked their previous releases. In 2005, Messer Chups became a duo consisting of Gitarkin and ZombieGirl on bass. In 2007, they became a trio, with drummer Denis « Kashey » Kuptzov from the famous band Leningrad. In 2008, they changed their drummer to Alexander Belkok, and Alexander Skvortzov became their vocalist.
Messer Chups’ music often features a foundation of surf drums on which they build collages of samples from odd sources, like jazz, east European animation soundtracks, and American B-pictures. On top of that they lay guitar solos and theremin.

THE SPACE LADY
If you’re going to call yourself The Space Lady, you better make sure your music sounds like something from another galaxy. In that regard, California-based outsider artist Susan Dietrich has passed with flying colours. Previously little-known beyond a few curious collectors, her frankly bizarre, child-like blends of delay-laden Moogs, folksy vocals, cheap drum machines and copious amounts of reverb are getting a second airing thanks to the efforts of Night School. We should thank them, as The Space Lady’s Greatest Hits is genuinely odd, but strangely addictive. It sounds like the product of too many long acid trips, and features, amongst other gems, an insanely out-there cheap-wave cover of The Sweet’s « Ballroom Blitz ». Inspired strangeness.

ERWAN KERAVEC
stemming from traditional Breton music practice. In 1996, Erwan was part of the Ronsed Mor bagad. The band came to record with La Marmite Infernal, the big band of the jazz collective ARFI based in Lyon, and this collaboration set Erwan’s improvisation practice in motion. It hasn’t stopped since… commissioning contemporary composers for solo bagpipe pieces. Works by Bernard Cavanna, Philippe Leroux, François Rossé, Benjamin de la Fuente, and Susumu Yoshida have been written for and dedicated to him, others have been written for him by Sébastien Béranger, Xavier Garcia and Zad Moultaka. For such commissions, Erwan Keravec is associate artist with the Centre de Création Musicale of the Théâtre de Cornouaille, Quimper, Brittany.

BLURT
When poet/puppeteer Ted Milton picked up the alto sax for the first time he experienced catharsis and, after his short-lived sax tutor told him he can’t teach him anything without spoiling his aspiring pupil’s idiosyncrasy, he formed Blurt in 1979 with brother Jake Milton on drums and arts teacher Peter Creese on guitar.
Their sound was rough and urgent, though not unfinished – far from it – the sparse vox-sax-guitar-drums instrumentation showed off the taut lines of Blurt’s schizo-disco-scapes, able to crowd them with claustrophobia while still keeping a clear, fresh sound. Ted Milton’s total lack of interest in smoothing out belied a stronger mind than most. During gigs they found their audiences flabbergasted at first, awestruck at second and hooked in the end. Rumour spread about this crazy three-piece outfit with a madman going out of his mind on bourbon and blowing his sax to shreds.

MOSS
Since they emerged from Hampshire’s catacombs in late 2000, MOSS have tirelessly dragged intimidating amplification and metaphysical malignance down a murky and overgrown path to oblivion. Whilst their sound has morphed slowly from lengthy and devastating exorcisms of psychic horror to a comparatively traditional form of sermonising, the last decade and a half has only seen them draw closer to a motherlode of ceremonial ambience and otherworldly dread. Fuelled by classic doom metal and British horror yet in thrall to no-one but their own wayward co-ordinates, these three seers have created a formidable collection of audial documents that bear testimony to an unflinching fascination with the ghastly and esoteric.

IDAHO
Started in 1992 in Los Angeles as a duo, through the mid nineties as a full band and then finally as a solo artist, the band IDAHO has become synonymous with Jeff Martin. He has been the sole thread through all of the incarnations. Known mostly for four-string guitars, low tempos, spectral feedback and nuance, IDAHO has never bowed to the pressures of being commercial. For their trouble He/they are the eternal underground band. By luck they’ve attracted a devoted, almost cult-like, following.
Idaho is like the secret club of indie music, and for this record you’ll need the code words….

Thanks for reading this very long email.

Please get back to me if you’re interested in setting up a concert for one or these bands and musicians.

All the best.

TREMOR
Buenos Aires based “digital folklore” trio Tremor return to the forefront of modern South American music with a brand new album on Nickodemus’ Brooklyn based Wonderwheel Recordings. After playing some of the most important festivals and venues worldwide including Roskilde Festival in Denmark and an official WOMEX showcase, the new album entitled Proa continues Tremor’s use of South American folklore traditions and regional instruments to bridge unexpected genres such as Argentine chacarera and Glitch / digital cumbia and electronic. Digging deeper into their folkloric roots and adding a new element of vocals for the first time, Proa is Tremor evolved: the most organic, psychedelic and visceral release of the trio to date, a release where the lines between traditional and digital are blurred into something completely their own.

DEAD FADER
A low-key record packed full of the kind of squeaks and groans you’d expect to hear in The Haxan Cloak’s basement, Deaf Arena has been sanded down by Cohen into the faint remains of what was once a collection of songs. Fragments of melodies can just about be heard over jagged skeletal rhythms and tube-damaged detuned synthesizers, and it all holds together remarkably well. It’s not a noise album, it’s definitely not ambient and it’d be a stretch to label it as dance music Cohen takes only the bits of each genre that he needs, and the result is exhilarating.

WANDA GROUP
Slow fizzin’, cryptic tape melt murk from Wanda Group, fresh in with Opal Tapes’ third batch from the brink. Coming from the manhead behind Dem Hunger, who delivered that wicked ‘Caveman Smack’ on Leaving Records, and following a wicked split with Ekoplekz and a C20 for NNA Tapes, it’s his most substantial cassette so far, burrowing deeper into a psychedelic ferric humus to masticate alien melodic minerals and trace elements of microtonal harmonics. It feels barely played, more like it was rubbed onto the spool with pebbles and flotsam then buried in compost for a few weeks before mastering by a deaf worm. Of course, this is all entirely desirable, resulting an intangibly gorgeous and elusive blur of barely-melody and..

MAHADEV COMETO
Mahadev Cometo consists of Alain Monod aka Al Comet on sitar, and Bertrand Siffert on electronics. As a founding member of The Young Gods Alain helped to reshape the industrial sound of the eighties, and he kept on exploring new distinctive sounds ever since. After a 6 months residency in India in 2011 the combination of sitar and classical Indian ragas with hi tech western electronica became a fact, resulting in a highly psychedelic sound. Today Mahadev Cometo has performed at several shows and festivals in Europe (Boom Festival, Portugal), Nepal (Silence Festival, Kathmandu), and India. Come and take the trip.

HIGH WOLF
World traveler + psychedelic musician High Wolf from France introduces the Experimental World Electro of « Growing Wild », out June 8th 2015 Leaving Records on Vinyl LP, ltd. Cassette (*w exclusive tape-only track), and Digital.
« The sounds are those of a celebration of life and fraternity, the colors are warm like an african dress, feelings are positive and strong, thoughts are accelerating and multiplying the same way the universe is expanding.” -High Wolf

Thanks for reading.

I hope to hear from you soon.

All the best.
