BABY FIRE + EVE LIBERTINE (CRASS) as special guest

Baby Fire is an all-female trio which combines the energy of post-punk

with feminine frailty. The strings are rough, the melodies catchy, the

voices enthrall. The band’s debut album was released in 2011 on Cheap

Satanism Records. Special guests included Eugene S. Robinson (Oxbow) and

Dana Schechter (Insect Ark).

Their second album, The Red Robe, was recorded at Dial House (Essex, UK)

by former Buzzcocks member Tony Barber and released on Off Records in

October 2014. It featured duets with Eve Libertine and Penny

Rimbaud from Crass. Gold, the third Baby Fire album, will be produced by

Pierre Vervloesem (dEUS, Flat Earth Society…) and is due for release in

October 2016.

Baby Fire has opened for Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Part Chimp, Lydia

Lunch, Neptune, etc.. and played shows in the US, France, Germany,

Holland and Belgium.

She was one of the two female vocalists (along with Joy De Vivre) who

worked with the influential British anarcho-punk band Crass. Her works

with the band include the controversial single « Reality Asylum », as well

as performing most of the vocals on the group’s third album, Penis Envy

(1981), the lyrics of which have a heavy anarcha-feminist content

Recent project from the east end of Rome with an acid and minimal synth

punk’s sound. This duo is the collaboration between Gabor (Aktion /

Metro Crowd) on vocals and Bob Junior (Trans Upper Egypt / Bobsleigh

Baby / Hiss) on keyboard and drum machine. Like looking at the future

from the past.

Max Eastley is an internationally recognised artist who combines kinetic

sculpture and sound into a unique art form. His sculptures exist on the

border between the natural environment and human intervention and use

the driving forces of electricity, wind, water and ice. He has exhibited

both interior and exterior works internationally. His work is

represented in the permanent collection of the Centre for Art and Media,

Karlsruhe, Germany.

Since 2003 Max has been an artist with the Cape Farewell Climate Change

Project (, for whom he has created a number

of installations, compositions and performances. From 2010 to 2013 he

was an Arts and Humanities Research Council Senior Researcher at Oxford

Brookes University, investigating Aeolian phenomena through artistic

practice and historical research. He is also currently one of the

artists involved in a project, Audible Forces, touring festivals in the

UK, using the wind as an energy source.

Phil Minton: Avant-garde vocalist Phil Minton has a large vocabulary of

voices and extended vocal techniques and an extensive discography

cataloguing his numerous projects from 1969 on. Born near the Southern

coast of England in 1940, he started out on the trumpet and began

playing in jazz bands in the late ’50s. After moving to London in the

mid-’60s, Minton began doubling as trumpeter/vocalist for the Mike

Westbrook Orchestra, then lived in the Canary Islands for a year, and in

Sweden for five before returning to London (and Westbrook’s band) in the

early ’70s. The mid-’70s found him working in a variety of settings,

from improvised duos to theatre groups, and in his vocal trio Voice with

Julie Tippetts and Maggie Nicols. As an improviser, Minton has toured

throughout the world, working with a great many creative musicians,

including Peter Brotzmann, Fred Frith, John Butcher, Derek Bailey’s

Company, and an ongoing collaboration with Veryan Weston. In addition to

Voice, he was in another trio during the ’90s called Axon (with Marcio

Mattos & Martin Blume, which recorded for another collaborator Georg

Graewe’s label Random Acoustics), led the Phil Minton Quartet, and was a

member of the quartet Roof.
