Psychedelic rockers HARSH TOKE explore sound and space through music.
On the San Diego Acid Rock band’s debut album Light Up and Live,
loud, heavy guitars, swimming bass lines and smashing drums warp to
full throttle, working together to launch the group’s « Haze
Maze » of unapologetic psychedelic-blues into interstellar overdrive.

The sound of JOY has been described as « a spaced-out sonic groove-ride » and « outer reach freak out », but that hyperbole alone doesn’t do justice to the group’s measured mode of attack. JOY puts a premium on establishing both structure and dynamics, its kaleidoscopic flurry and full-throttle riffage is anchored by both subtle detail and surprising textural depth. Record Collector says that JOY « take the blues about as far out as they can stretch ’em and they’re far more psychedelic than a band like Blue Cheer ever was, even in their most lysergic moments, » a claim that can be debated by those whom have seen JOY share the stage with acts such as Dead Meadow, Harsh Toke, Hot Lunch, Sacri Monti and at last year’s well-documented west coast tour with psychedelic giants (and new labelmates) Earthless.

JOE MCPHEE’S) magical take on avant-garde sax remains one of the wonders of the scene. He still has one of the most beautiful tones on the planet, even when he’s reaching for jazz’s outer limits. »
JOHN EDWARDS has always been involved with a wide diversity of musical
styles and situations. At home with composed and improvised music he
is one of the busiest musicians on the scene.
Percussionist Klaus Kugel is a commanding force behind the drum set.

These metal aficionados have been tearing up the smoke-filled Live Houses of Tokyo since 2011 when they were formed “with no solid plans… only the understanding that the guys love BONGZILLA and IRON MONKEY.” Their vocals are a mix of English and Japanese, their sound resembling straightforward old-school rock bands like Black Sabbath with a “don’t give a fuck” attitude to match.

The band features members of Wojczech and Bad Luck Rides On Wheels and have mastered a blend of Sleep, Bongzilla and Electric Wizard stoner/doom spacing all over the place.

Øscuråtrønics  is  a  new  project  of ᛗichaël  Liberg,  a  dialogue  between  a  unique  hypnotizing instrument, a Bowed Cittern called the «Cetera Øscura», and the spirit of the Frippertronics, Robert  Fripp  and  Brian  Eno’s Tape  loop  invention.  It  is  a  conversation  between  the  acoustic
and the electronic, the antique drone and the feedback, the spirit of modalitytriggering the threshold  of  spectrality,  the  immemorial  musical  gesture  and  the  Echoes  of  the  tape,  like  a book  of  mirrors,  like  doppelgängers  facing  each  other  and  conjuring  the un-sympathethicresonances of times to come. Øscuråtrønics could be viewed as a metaphorical reflection on the myth of Echo and Narcissus.

The common desire to explore the music collected in the mountains of Auvergne and Limousin and the qualities of the sound of this music is the concern of Toad. These musicians question the standardization of current musical modes fully exploiting the wealth of timbres of their instruments. The issue of electrification and amplification of this music is an issue that requires real work of sound. Toad is offering a wild concert far from its sanitized.

MDME SPKR, 100% DIY and love, erupted from London and released their firstEP « Humanoid » in October 2015 which was in the Top 25 of Rough Trade’sweekly releases!
In 2017 they will release a new record: « Last Thoughts »
This duo, Bass and Drums, puts on the most smashing live shows with it’s rawpower and soulful tracks
They already supported Thurston Moore, Lydia Lunch, Retrovirus, Kid Congo, Saviours, Big Sir, Sonic Jesus, Black Bombaim, Radio Moscow, Bazooka…
If Nirvana and L7 had a baby it would be MDME SPKR

Praed are Raed Yassin (keyboards/laptop/ electronics/ vocals and Paed Conca (clarinet/ electric bass/ electronics). They formed in 2006, and their two previous albums were in the main more collage based, consisting mostly of soundscapes of dislocated audio fragments, of vocal, musical and film samples from Egyptian Shaabi and Dabke music pared with free jazz and sprawling electronics. This feels more live, jammier and less manipulated, more like a band than a studio project. It’s definitely more bombastic, pinning your ears back much more than a lot of their earlier output.

FEN (Far East Network) is a group project made up of musicians from Singapore, Japan, China, and Korea who play improvised music. It was first started on the suggestion of globally renowned musician Otomo Yoshihide. Each member is an artist who works individually on the experimental music scene in his respective country. They have been supporting each other’s activities by organizing concerts in their own countries, and this relationship became the motivation to form FEN. Currently formed of Otomo Yoshihide, Yan Jun, Yuen Chee Wai & Ryu Hankil.

The words through the music, the music through the picture, Cercueil’s dreamlike orchestration reinterprets Lynch’s nightmare in a dizzying weightlessness.
Eraserhead is the first David Lynch’s movie. Amazing direction of an « oniric nightmare », this cult movie is magnified by Cercueil’s hypnotic electronic music, involving drones, ambiant sound waves and labyrinthic pop. A contemplative, organic, singular and striking live soundtrack.

All the best.
