KAWAGUCHI MASAMI
Kawaguchi Masami’s machine gun guitar, which stutters in a polyglot tongue drawing equally from Rory Gallagher, Jerry Garcia and Lou Reed. » — The Wire magazine (U.K.)
The projectユs name (Kawaguchi Masami’s New Rock Syndicate) doesnユt lie: while there are slower, shadowy dreams, much of the disc is heavy riffage in a Blue Cheer-meets-Rallizes-cum-Nuggets-style fuzz zone. »– Mason Jones (musician, writer U.S.)
Kawaguchi Masami is a Japanese guitar monster who has done time in Miminokoto, LSD March, and Broomdusters, and played with Keiji Haino for a time… Its exceptional wailing, burning garage psych-rock grounded in Kawaguchi’s trademark heart-breakingly melancholic emotional intensity, instantly hummable, head-nodding toe-tapping riffs and melodies and unavoidably air guitaring white light, white heat guitar solos. »- -Palindrone (N.Z.).

VEDA
Based on their own interpretation of James M. Cain’s classic novel « Mildred Pierce », Dominique Van Cappellen-Waldock (Baby Fire, von Stroheim, etc.) and Alwntr (ex-OMSQ) team up and deliver a dystopian soundtrack to one of the greatest American stories of the 20th century. They both imagine alternative chapters that draw Mildred’s fate into murder, poisonous gardening, humiliation and vengeance.
Preface, their debut EP, was released in August 2017.
Since September 2017, Cécile Gonay (Seesayle, Baby Fire) has been a recurring guest on violin. The band’s debut album is scheduled for May 2018.

ANAÏS TUERLINCKX
Anaïs Tuerlinckx is a pianist from Brussels. She started to play the piano as a child with György Kurtág’s “Játékok” discovering pretty early the noisy and physical potential of the piano. Later on she began to practice collective improvisation and moved to Berlin interested in the local improvised music scene where she began to develop her solo project. Tending to a rather physical and expending way of playing, her performances are characterized by a decidedly harsh and noisy but at the same time elegiac, breezy and spacious sound.

HUGO RACE + MICHELANGELO RUSSO
Hugo Race and Michelangelo Russo are no strangers to either Hooker or the blues. Hailed as a supreme influence on the music of their band Hugo Race & The True Spirit, Race and Russo’s reimagining of Hooker is simultaneously blues, electronica, avant-garde and ambient, a homage to one of the greats of rock and roll prehistory.

All the best.

Alain
