https://stroomtv.bandcamp.com/album/kwart-voor-straks
Availabilities; 20th-3Oth August + 14th-31st October 2024
Territories: Europe + UKKwart Voor Straks’ is the debut release from Deforce and Jacobs, two artists with differing aesthetics who share similar creative philosophies. Deforce is a painter, poet and curator who’s based in Brussels, and Jacobs a vocalist and songwriter whose last solo release, 2021’s ‘The Shape of Wandering’ treated her voice to various processes over a synthy, jazz-inspired backdrop. ‘Kwart Voor Straks’ (quarter to later) fixates on the voice, weaving the duo’s sung and spoken words between loose song fragments that appear suddenly and disappear like vapours. ‘Umami’ is the album’s most upfront track, a hypnagogic club crawler that balances Jacobs’ and Deforce’s spoken words with rumbling kicks and stark, electrified percussion. « Overspoeld, door kleur in het, kwadraat, ziet de straat, kracht, in pastel, » they mouth purposefully, while Jacobs provides an elysian, choral accompaniment.HEEJIN JANG [Korea]https://heejinjang.bandcampAvailabiliies: 6th July – 6th August [not between 21st and 29th July]

Territory; Europe + UKD L G Z’s journey follows a path that is more often winding than straight. The same goes for their music. D L G Z play intricate and haunted rock music, dark and stubborn, drawing inspiration from jazz, noise rock, or high brow music, that owes as much to Portishead and Steve Reich as it does to Battles or Robert Wyatt. Since 2005, the Lille based quintet has experienced periods of intense activity during which they released two EPs and an album, performed alongside prestigious acts like Tortoise, or Ez3kiel, but also disappeared from the radar multiple times. The band resurfaced in 2022 with a new album in the works and a reconfigured lineup. Entitled Setbacks & Reversals, as a reference to the obstacles and pitfalls that have marked D L G Z’s active years, as turbulent as their offbeat and nerdy rock, this new album was finally unveiled in November 2023.ILUITEQ [Italy]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4287c20wqbQAvailability: On request
