BOOKING OFFER: SPATIAL

Posted in Uncategorized on octobre 26, 2011 by debloque

Dear all,

I’m booking some dates for SPATIAL in March 2012.
I hope you quite enjoy his music.

Please find here a biography but a useful link:
http://soundcloud.com/schmorgasbord/spatial-corti-s-max-remix

Echoes of haunted dancehalls and distant raves in London town..

In late 2008 spatial subverted the UK bass scene by releasing a limited 10”
on his newly christened infrasonics imprint. The expansion of dubstep’s
horizon with a technoid garage hybrid combined with the minimal aesthetic
of the design and information reticence proved compelling in an age of
categorisation and communication overload. The release scored an instant
Boomkat single of the week and all but sold out inside two weeks.

spatial’s subsequent two 10”s were equally well received, allowing him to
expand the infrasonics output with a series of split 12”s by other artists
that challenged stylistic boundaries. Many reference points have been
drawn in reviews of his music but none confidently define a sound that
draws on a huge range of influences and continues to morph with each
release.
The consistencies are UK rave references, bass weight and an increasingly
prevalent focus on energy in the material – thus receiving solid support
in London, the UK and across the globe.

As an in-demand DJ, spatial’s sets traverse a breadth of bass centric
styles centered around rawkus energy with brief refrains into deeper, more
abstract material that play on tension and release.

He’s played a host of underground parties in the UK and Europe whilst
making appearances at festivals such as Club Transmediale, Freerotation
and Unsound. He recently made his debut appearance in the US tearing up
the revered Dubwar party in NYC.

Showcase mixes have appeared for FACT magazine, Samurai FM, Wefearsilence,
DJ Mag, Unsound and URB with label press from Wire, Resident Advisor,
Mixmag, FACT, IDJ, De:Bug and XLR8R.

I hope to hear from you asap.

Regards.

BOOKING OFFER: DIATRIBES

Posted in Uncategorized on octobre 24, 2011 by debloque

Hello,

I’m booking some gigs for the band DIATRIBES.

They are available between 23rd and 27th January.

Please click on this to listen to what they sound like:

http://www.insubordinations.net/releases.html

And also read this biography:

DIATRIBES:
Diatribes, a strongly libertarian ensemeble, began its existence in a
Geneva basement in Winter 2004. Their idea was to mix three distinct types
of sound (electronic, wind and percussion), in order to develop a
malleable musical mass. The saxophone and drums merge into each other in a
primary dance, where construction and deconstruction coexist, and envy and
disgust unite. There are no limits to their sound, where rhythms, melodies
and noise meet sporadically, merging into each other until they are almost
forgotten. Free jazz in its approach, acoustic and electronic in its
execution, the trio is capable of exploring the minute like the intense.
Their relationship with the public is intimate and profound. Dreams and
fears become noise and silence…

Initialy a trio with Gaël Riondel on saxophone, diatribes became a
polymorphous fromation, extending its spectrum to other musicians such as
the guitarist Christian Graf, the electroacoustician Nicolas Sordet, the
pianists Jacques Demierre and Johann Bourquenez.

I hope to hear bfrom you soon.

BOOKING OFFER: RAFAEL TORAL

Posted in Uncategorized on octobre 17, 2011 by debloque

Dear all,

I’m booking some dates for RAFAEL TORAL end of May early June 2012.

Please find here a biography and also some links:

http://www.myspace.com/rafaeltoral
http://soundcloud.com/noise-precision

Rafael Toral plays experimental electronic instruments. Strongly
interested in phrasing, he calls his style « post-free jazz electronic
music », once described as « a brand of electronic music far more visceral
and emotive than that of his cerebral peers ». Toral’s Space Program, while
researching performance possibilities, delivers music that is full of
clarity, articulating silence and sound in a thoughtful, yet physical way.

Formerly known for his drone/ ambient work with guitar and electronics and
acclaimed records such as Wave Field (1994) or Violence of Discovery and
Calm of Acceptance (2000), he has radically renewed his approach to music,
launching the jazz-inspired and alien-sounding Space Program in 2004.

Toral’s long time connection with Sei Miguel is central to the development
of the Space Program. Other collaborations include Jim O’Rourke, Evan
Parker, John Edwards, Joe Morris, Tatsuya Nakatani, Manuel Mota, Roger
Turner, David Toop, Alvin Lucier, John Zorn, Phill Niblock, Christian
Marclay, Sonic Youth, João Paulo Feliciano, Rhys Chatham, Lee Ranaldo, C
Spencer Yeh, Trevor Tremaine, Dean Roberts… In 1998 he became a member
of MIMEO electronic orchestra. Its other members are Keith Rowe, Thomas
Lehn, Kaffe Matthews, Marcus Schmickler, Jérome Noetinger, Christian
Fennesz, Peter Rehberg, Gert-Jan Prins, Cor Fuhler and Phil Durrant. Since
2008 he directs the Space Collective, a slowly developing orchestral
group.

Also active in visual and spatial arts, Toral has produced video and
several installations from 1994 to 2003.

Rafael Toral has performed throughout Europe, Canada, USA, South Korea,
Japan, New Zealand and Australia.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Regards.

BOOKING OFFER: JANEK SCHAEFER

Posted in Uncategorized on octobre 14, 2011 by debloque
Dear all,

I'm booking some selected dates for Janek Schaefer in 2012.
He's available either for performances and/or sound installations.

I will try and combine these dates together.

Please tell me when you could set up something for him.

Please read this biography and also visit:

http://www.audioh.com/directory.html

Sound Artist, Musician & Composer JANEK SCHAEFER was born in England to
Polish and Canadian parents in 1970. While studying architecture at the
Royal College of Art [RCA annual prize], he recorded the fragmented noises
of a sound activated dictaphone travelling overnight through the Post
Office. That work, titled ‘Recorded Delivery’ [1995] was made for the
‘Self Storage’ exhibition [Time Out critics choice] with one time postman
Brian Eno and Artangel. Since then the multiple aspects of sound became
his focus, resulting in many site-specific installations, exhibition &
dance soundtracks, albums and concerts using his self built record players
with manipulated found sound collage. The ‘Tri-phonic Turntable’ [1997] is
listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the ‘World’s Most Versatile
Record Player’. He has performed, lectured and exhibited widely throughout
Europe [Sonar, Tate Modern, ICA], USA/Canada, [The Walker, XI, Mutek,
Princeton], Japan, and Australia [Sydney Opera House]. In 2008 he won the
Paul Hamlyn Award for Composers Prize, and The British Composer of the
Year Award in Sonic Art. The Bluecoat Gallery exhibited a Retrospective of
his 20 year career in 2009.

The context of each idea is central to its development and resolution. His
concerts and installations explore the spatial and architectural aspect
that sound can evoke and the twisting of technology. Hybrid analogue and
digital techniques are used to manipulate field recordings with live
modified vinyl and found sound to create evocative and involving
environments. His CD 'Above Buildings' [2000] was released on Fat Cat to
considerable praise, [The Guardian CD of the week]. He plays in duos with
Philip Jeck (Songs for Europe CD), Robert Hampson (Comae CD), and Stephan
Mathieu (Hidden Name CD). Janek runs his own label [audiOh!Recordings] and
web site [audiOh.com] as well as releasing work with Asphodel, Sub Rosa,
Hot Air, Sirr, Rhiz, [K-RAA-K]3, Alluvial, DSP, Diskono, BiP_HOp, Cronica,
LINE, ::Room40::, Fat Cat, and Staalplaat. He currently works as a full
time sound artist/sound designer/musician and composer from the audiOh!
Room in Walton-on-Thames.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Regards.

BOOKING OFFER: SLUG GUTS

Posted in Uncategorized on octobre 13, 2011 by debloque

Dear all,

In March 2012 SLUG GUTS will leave the USA and establish themselves in Europe.
To welcome them over here I’m arranging a European tour starting in late March 2012.

Please find here a biography + a useful link:

http://soundcloud.com/sacredbones/slug-guts-howlin

Slug Guts hail from the baron, heat stricken confines of Brisbane, Australia, a town as desolate as it is depressing and suburban. Slug Guts began when four degenerates had little else to do but form a band in the tradition of Pussy Galore, X (Australia not L.A.), and Birthday Party. In the first four months of the band Slug Guts recorded their first LP Down on the Meat which was released on Stained Circles Records (Jay Reatard, Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Dirtbombs).

After numerous Australian tours and one Japanese tour playing alongside Lightning Bolt, Dead Meadow, Primitive Calculators, Flipper, and Eddy Current amongst others, the band went back into the studio and recorded this thirteen-song sophomore album, Howlin’ Gang. The LP was recorded in a railway carriage on the outskirts of Ipswich. Taking partial influence from Christian Death, The Scientists and The Triffids, this new LP sought to take a different direction than the harsh swamp rock which characterized their first release. Howlin’ Gang LP features a duet with Angela Bermuda (Circle Pit) and guest appearances by Sarah Spencer (Blank Realm). In this recording session Slug Guts also finished a split 7-inch with iconic Australian 1980’s experimentalists Primitive Calculators, which features both bands doing Primitive Calculator’s single “Ugly Pumping Muscle” and a third rendition which is Stuart Grant (Primitive Calculators) singing “Ugly Pumping Muscle” with Slug Guts live in Brisbane. We are proud to announce the US debut release from Brisbane’s finest dirge-e-mites. Later this year, the Sacred Bones Australian love affair will continue with releases from Naked on the Vague and Circle Pit, in addition to a compilation of our favorite Australian contemporary artists. Slug Guts will embark on their first US tour in March of 2011, including the Sacred Bones showcase at SXSW.

I hope to hear from you asap.

Regards.

BOOKING OFFER: ZOFT

Posted in Uncategorized on octobre 10, 2011 by debloque

Hi,

I’m booking some dates for the Belgian band ZOFT.
Availability is very open. Please just ask and they will rush to your club.
Here’s a short biography + http://soundcloud.com/humptydumptyrecords/zoft-shramana so that you know how they sound like.

Zoft is a duo formed in 2008 in Brussels by Damien Magnette and
Nicolas Gitto.\
After experimenting in trio versions with a singer, then electronics then a tuba
player, they decided to concentrate their work on a duo version oriented towards
home made instruments construction.\
Therefore, they builded sound sculptures working with small engine that each member
trigger while he plays. These sculptures are also producing light when they are
triggered, so the whole performance is exclusively lightened by the music.\
Zoft toured in France, Switserland, Germany, Czech Republic, Roumania, Slovenia,
Bosnia, Serbia, Austria, Hungary, Croatia and wishes to further!\
They are actually working on new projects around home made electro-acoustic
instruments.\
Their first album will be released on Humpty Dumpty records in June 2011.

I hope to hear from you soon.

THIS WEEK END IN BRUSSELS

Posted in Uncategorized on octobre 6, 2011 by debloque

VENDREDI 7 OCTOBRE A RECYCLART

projets musicaux (Anima, Anima Musica, Anima Sound…), participe à nombre

Shiraishi, Michiko Takahashi, Ami Yoshida, Masafumi Ezaki, Taku Sugimoto

BOOKING OFFER: NEIL LANDSTRUMM

Posted in Uncategorized on octobre 6, 2011 by debloque
Hello,

I'm booking some dates for NEIL LANDSTRUMM.
He's available in December 2011 and in February 2012.

Please read this biography and also click on this:

http://soundcloud.com/neil-landstrumm

Based in Edinburgh, Scotland, Neil Landstrumm has played upon the verge of
experimental techno music, a form no less innovative though its steady
beat has been perceived as having little room for intelligent musicians.
Influenced by the Sheffield school of industrial bleep techno pioneered by
LFO, Landstrumm is also respectful of colleague Cristian Vogel, who more
than shares his tendencies toward the obtuse. Landstrumm began producing
in the early '90s within a variety of groups, but began solo production in
1993. He met Vogel one year later while DJing at Edinburgh's Sativa club,
and released a single for Vogel's Mosquito label; the duo also combined
for several EPs recorded as Blue Arsed Fly. Landstrumm began recording for
Peacefrog Records through Vogel's connection to Luke Slater, and released
his first album Brown for August on Peacefrog in 1995. Increasingly
splitting production chores with occasional partner Tobias Schmidt -- who
records on his own as well -- he released his second LP, Understanding
Disinformation, in 1996 for Berlin's sympathetic Tresor label.
Landstrumm's formation of the Scandinavia label that year took up much of
his time, with the release of solid singles by Adam X, Stephen Brown and
others; nevertheless, in 1997 he managed to issue another full-length,
Bedrooms and Cities. Though Pro Audio followed just one year later,
Landstrumm took some time off to work on his own label (Scandinavia) and
on a series of projects with MTV and video-game developers. Finally, 2001
brought another Tresor LP, She Took a Bullet Meant for Me. ~ John Bush,
All Music Guide

I hope to hear from you soon.
