JARBOE / KRIS FORCE
Jarboe (/ˈdʒɑrboʊ/; also known as Jane Jarboe, and the Living Jarboe; born Jarboe La Salle Devereaux) is an American singer-songwriter and keyboardist who came to prominence as a member of the New York City-based band Swans in 1985. Having played the organ since childhood and had years of professional vocal training, she, with founder Michael Gira, were the two constant members of Swans until the group broke up in 1998.
Although she was absent from the group’s lineup when the band reformed in 2010, she contributed background vocals and voice collage for the band’s 2012 album, The Seer.[4] She has released numerous solo albums and collaborations, many of which have been self-published. She also co-composed the soundtrack of a horror game titled The Path.

FATHER MURPHY
Father Murphy is the sound of the Catholic sense of Guilt.
A downward spiral aiming at the bottom of the hollow, and then digging even deeper.
Father Murphy over the years became one of the most mysterious and enigmatic musical entities coming out of Italy, part of that community that Simon Reynolds and Julian Cope started to call the new “Italian Occult Psychedelia

TJONG POW
Tjong Pow is an improvisation project that wishes to re-examine our human relation with the technology we use in music and the methods we apply to it. How do we get to understand our technology? To what level do we allow ourselves to know it? And what happens as we go further and
deeper into that relationship?

MIKE COOPER
Cooper, now in his seventies, is making the most adventurous music of his life… incredibly rich and evocative, and as a live performance, it’s utterly flawless. Cooper takes live guitar processing and sampling as his raw material, using it to build something complex and substantive, full of ideas and surprises, not just abandoning it half-formed

ROBERTA PIKET
The daughter of a European composer and a Great American Songbook singer, native New Yorker Roberta Piket is a pianist who loves to swing while exploring the more adventurous harmonic possibilities of jazz and improvised music.

I hope to hear from you asap. Feel free to ask more info.

All the best.

Hi,

I’m updating this post with proper info about Dominic Lash.

I’m booking some dates for them. Territory: Europe

DOMINIC LASH (UK) + SETH COOKE (UK)

http://dominiclash.blogspot.co.uk/p/videos.html

Availability: Duo. April 2016 (Cooke and Lash)

Availability: Solo. September 2016 (Lash)

DOMINIC LASH + SETH COOKE
Cooke and Lash (there’s a duo name for you) serve up two quite tasty tracks, more (slightly) steady-state than much of what I’ve heard from Cooke prior to this, the album beginning with an intense electronic buzz/hum with sitar overtones. Dark, deep strokes obtrude from Lash’s arco, very strong and exciting. The piece fragments into juicy, globular strands of plucks, scrapes and rattles, all quite resonant and close-mic’d; one’s ears are right in the middle of the conflagration. Surging, rough and uncompromising–good stuff. The second cut starts in a semi-similar area as did the first, a drone-y space with a seesaw pattern from the bass, Cooke spreading rich, granular noise over and under. Rather than fracturing, this piece kind of melts into a thick swirl of colors, mostly more muted electronics accented by pure bowed bass lines and portentous plucks, concluding with a feedback squall. Excellent work.

I hope to hear from you asap.

Regards.

Alain

DANIELLE DE PICCIOTTO + ALEXANDER HACKE (E. Neubauten) German-American artist couple Danielle de Picciotto and Alexander Hacke lives and works in Berlin. Since 2001 both jointly develop audio and visual performances to always be staged in a new artistic and musical manner. Their work is always unconventional, versatile and intercultural.

Thanks to their experiments their works complement one another in a very special way, thus creating new forms. And thanks to their versatile musical and artistic oeuvre both are true all-rounders.

USNEA

Usnea formed in late 2011. After solidifying a line-up, they fine-tuned material for a debut record. The S/T debut was recorded at Haywire Studios with Fester (who also recorded records by Stoneburner, Nux Vomica, Atriarch, Burials, Knelt Rote, Rabbits, Spectral Tombs, etc). Adam Gonsalvez mastered the mammoth hour long four song session and Orca Wolf released the LP in February of 2013. The S/T LP features the first 2 songs clocking in at just over 30 minutes, an 11×22″

poster/lyric insert and a download code for the record tracks plus two extra songs (totaling almost an hour of music). Eternal Warfare released a cassette version of the S/T album containing all four songs in late 2013. Usnea embarked on a West Coast tour in May 2013 followed by a short tour to Dead Fest in Oakland later that August with Portland buddies Stoneburner and Bastard Feast. In January of 2014, Usnea recorded for a split 7” EP with Ruins co-released stateside by Halo of Flies Records and in Europe by Germany’s Twisted Chords Records. Work is almost complete on a 2nd full length LP, to be released by Relapse Records.

INVERLOCH

Melbourne, Australia’s Inverloch, featuring 2/4 of the legendary diSEMBOWELMENT pick right up where diSEMBOWELMENT left off close to two decades ago. Inverloch’s debut mini-lp ‘d.USK….Subside’ is nothing short of epic, featuring the slow atmosphereics mixed with bursts of pounding blast beats that erupt out of tranquil soundscapes that diSEMBOWELMENT first trademarked in the early 1990s. Percussion blasts, riffs buzz and vocals grunt overtop huge reverb drenched guitar melodies that fall like black rain, a metallic pummel that stumbles towards a seasick lumber, that turns the whole record into a crawling, lurching, plodding and downtuned dirge, that is one of the most powerful and beautiful pieces of crust/death/doom to come forth through stereo speakers in years.

PAAL NILSEN-LOVE + KEN VANDENMARK

When Paal Nilssen-Love and Ken Vandermark take the stage for two uninterrupted sets, you know there’s no chance they’ll take the easy route. They put themselves on the spot as a duet and as individual performers, asking telling questions about the way their instruments are played; where the boundaries are, sonically, expressively, physically.

Nilssen-Love is the epitome of a timekeeper. He can add a frighteningly precise, metronomic structure to the most wayward of off-road ventures.

His industrial, shotgun punches traded places with carefully directed ticks on the centres of cymbals, an expansive use of the large toms which had them sounding like kettle drums, and lightening-fast changes of sticks, mallets and brushes to build up dense atmospheric layers.

Vandermark can be trailing a stonking, punky minimalist stream then nail a classic, fast-moving jazz groove on tenor – his surprisingly unexpected take-off point for set two after an opening set where the roles of the brass, wind and percussion were defined and redefined through a gamut of unconventional strategies.

NUSLUX, ARTTU PARTINEN, ANTTII TOLVI, AVARUS AVARUS Avarus are a band from Tampere, Finland. They were formed in 2001 by members of The Anaksimandros and Pylon and soon absorbed members of other Finnish bands. Avarus’ floating line-up has varied between 10 and

20 members, but has been mostly around 5 members lately.

Avarus are considered a key element in the Finnish psych folk scene which emerged in the early 2000s. Slowly they have been developing their own musical genre « beer trance ».

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjVvwFeZ-FI

ARTTU PARTINEN

For many years, Arttu Partinen has been known as Amon Düde, but in recent times he has also performed under his own name. However, there are rumours that this tour might be an Amon Düde reunion tour. In his performances, he combines noise dynamics with slapstick moves. He often seems to struggle with his gear, surprising himself as well as the audience. As sound sources he uses found tapes, his own recordings, world music cassettes, nature sounds, human voice, processed live percussion etc.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImEbOmofOEg

NUSLUX

Roope Eronen has been working widely with underground culture in Finland since the year 2000: organizing international alternative music shows, playing experimental music (in groups Avarus, Pylon, Maniacs Dream, Kemialliset Ystävät and solo as Nuslux) and making comics.

Nuslux started in 2006 as an experimental electronic music project.

Nuslux has been going through many phases in his sound, starting from experiments with self made gear to his current use of analogue synths, tapes and loops. His interests are in the possibilities of limited gear and in exploring the deeper nuances and potential of seemingly random and naive sounds. Nuslux’s recorded music is often different from live performances. In his live shows he’s always improvising, but when recording he’s composing, multi-tracking and re-dubbing a lot. Nuslux has released one LP, thee 7″ EPs and many tapes and cd-rs.

ANTTI TOLVI

Antti Tolvi is a father, composer, performer, wanna be self-sufficiency , taiji teacher and more. Born in 1977. Lived first 19 year in farm west coast of Finland. Then moved to City (Turku) where little by little world started to open. Found first wind instrument, didgeridoo. Then free jazz (saxophone in Rauhan Orkesteri 2001->) came to picture, but at the same time Indian classical music started to sound very interesting.

Soon came trip to Varanasi and studying Indian classical music. Next was nature and taiji studies. After 10 years in Turku, moving back to countryside. Slowly from wild / chaos / free to more solo and minimalism world. Zen meditation came in. Children. Everything starts to come together. After 10 years back in countryside, everything starts from beginning. Didgeridoos sounds again great and interesting. Schlagers sounds better than ever, birds, wind, silence, harmony..

Antti is currently working whit long duration drone piece whit church organ, building sound installation from long pipes and blower, searching new worlds from analog synths and flying whit softest overtone clouds from grand piano.

www.anttitolvi.com

THE STAR PILLOW

Music made by images, is made by ideas which chase each other, wich modulate themselves by repeating and changing their structure constantly they create a layer of sound ethereal and subtle; confortable and reasuring for a while, it explodes in a triumph of loops and experiments.

It’s a stream of thoughts that breaks everything, accompanying the listener to the discover of new sounds and sensations, a container for conveying emotions and get lost between suggestions and melodies.

TSEMBLA

Tsembla is the musical work of Marja Johansson, a Swedish-Finnish artist living and working in Turku, Finland. Utilizing a wide range of instruments, electronics, objects and samples, the music of Tsembla rides on waves of warped melodies, fluttering rhythms, abstract voices and mutating textures, crossbreeding the known and the imaginary.

LADY MAISERY

Lady Maisery are an English folk vocal harmony trio composed of Hannah

James (vocals, piano accordion, clogs, foot percussion) Hazel Askew

(vocals, concertina, harp, bells) and Rowan Rheingans (vocals, fiddle,

banjo, bansitar).

Lady Maisery sing traditional and contemporary folk songs as well as

exploring the tradition of diddling or tune singing, which has

nearlydied out in England, but is still prevalent in Scandinavia and

other parts of Europe.

RAFAEL ANTON IRISSARI

Rafael Anton Irisarri is an American composer, multi-instrumentalist,

electronic music producer, interdisciplinary artist and curator.

Predominantly associated with ambient, drone, post-minimalist, and

modern classical music, Irisarri recorded output captures an essential

vision of floating tones, deep pulsing bass and textural electronics.

His use of ostinato phrases taps into minimalist ideals while

atmospheric layers of effects suggests a more cinematic quality in his

productions. In all, Irisarri compositions are deeply emotive and epic

to the point of being symphonic.

SHARON GAL

Performing solo, and on-going collaborations with Steve

Beresford, David Toop, Steve Noble, Alex Ward, John Edwards,Dylan

Nyoukis, Phil Minton& Feral Singers, Andie Brown, Yoni Silver and Lina

Lapelyte. Also performing a series of collaborative group

compositions; L’esprit d’escalier – for voices in a staircase, Toy

Orchestra – for children and adults, Long Drone – for a large ensemble

of various instruments, Gals with Guitars.

She is a founder member of London’s arts radio, Resonance 104.4

FM and have been presenting and producing

various programmes, including; Diggers, with

Edwin “Savage Pencil” Pouncey, Venus Rising, In Search of

Inspiration , and Stereo Cilia, a weekly sound-diary.

Her music was released by Ash International/ Paradigm records/

Chocolate Monk / Emanem / Ecstatic Yod /American Tapes & The Tapeworm

Labels, with the recent Voice Studies, on My Dance the Skull.

Z’ev

Z’EV (born Stefan Joel Weisser on February 8, 1951 in Los Angeles,

California) is an American poet, percussionist, and sound artist. After

studying various world music traditions at CalArts, he began creating

his own percussion sounds out of industrial materials for a variety of

record labels. He is regarded as a pioneer of industrial music.

In 1983, critic Roy Sablosky wrote: “Z’EV doesn’t just break the rules,

he changes them. Journalist Louis Morra wrote in 1983: “Z’EV is a

consummate example of contemporary performance art, as well as modern

composition and theater.” and, “Z’EV realizes many of modernist art’s

ultimate goals: primitivism, improvisation, multi-media/conjunction of

art forms, the artist as direct creator.

His work with text and sound has been influenced by Kabbalah, as well as

African, Afro-Caribbean and Indonesian music and culture. He has studied

Ewe (Ghana) music, Balinese gamelan, and Indian tala.

POLE

But neither hip-hop nor dub were the defining elements in Betke’s first

two musical phases. Betke has never been a reggae or hip-hop artist. His

music isn’t based in a scene or in private experience, but in musical

structures, which he decontextualizes in order to integrate them into

his own personal musical language. In Betke’s 2007 release “steingarten”

there are no more references holding the music together. Electronics,

loops, minimalism – all of that is there, of course, but now it’s all

operating in a space all its own. Betke’s work, created in a vacuum,

independent of musical trends and clearly defined reference systems, is

not predicated on anything or prefacing anything – it’s a timeless

artistic achievement.

TJONG POW

Tjong Pow is an improvisation project that wishes to re-examine our

human relation with the technology we use in music and the methods we

apply to it. How do we get to understand our technology? To what level

do we allow ourselves to know it? And what happens as we go further and

deeper into that relationship?

DEAN McPHEE

Solo electric guitarist Dean McPhee’s spacious, hypnotic and echo-laden

music brings together a broad range of influences including Medieval

Folk, Dub, Post Rock, Kosmische Musik, Desert Blues, Moroccan Trance and

Ambient/Drone, but his singular approach to the instrument is very much

his own. Having developed his unique style of playing over years of

experimentation and improvisation, his critically acclaimed releases on

the Blast First Petite, Folklore Tapes, World in Winter and Hood Faire

labels and mesmerising live performances have cemented his reputation as

being one of the most original and distinctive musicians in the current

crop of post-Fahey guitar soli. « On the Wire” presenter and legendary

champion of unusual and esoteric music Steve Barker recently described

Dean as being “definitely one of the leading contemporary guitar

stylists in the UK, and in the world” and his 2015 album « Fatima’s Hand »

has been widely praised by sources such as The Wire, Uncut, Record

Collector, Music OMH, DOA, Drowned in Sound, MOJO Magazine and ATTN:

Magazine.

RACKER&ORPHAN

Racker&Orphan is a duo consisting of two of the UK’s most enigmatic and

artful experimentalists, Sam McLoughlin (N Racker/Sam and the Plants)

and David Chatton-Barker aka David Orphan (Folklore Tapes). Using

handmade instruments and analogue projections, their live performances

are absorbing and unpredictable. Racker&Orphan’s 10″ album « Sounds of

Insects » was released earlier this year on the Hood Faire label and is a

direct homage to an old Scholastic/Folkways field recordings LP of the

same name by Albro T. Gaul and found Racker&Orphan using a mysterious

blend of specialised field recording and sympathetic reassembling to

create mysterious and absorbing insectile soundscapes. Sam and David

were recently seen supporting Richard Skelton at St John’s Church in

London, performing improvised music and live projections using organic

materials and microscopic film as part of a live performance of Rob St

John’s « Surface Tension » project. Earlier this year « Sounds of Insects »

received a great four star review from Record Collector and was

described by « We Need No Swords » blog as being « one of the most

diverting and interesting releases of the year”.

Thanks for reading.

I hope to hear from you as soon as possible.

All the best.

HEAD OF WANTASTIQUET
HEAD OF WANTASTIQUET (USA/DE) is Paul LaBrecque’s (Sunburned Hand of the Man, Astral Blessing) solo shaman body melt unit.
The music is a thoroughly Modern/NOW take on the early minimalist
experiments of John Cale’s Sun Blindness tapes, projected through a prism that refracts into hallucinatory images of Andrew Wyeth and Caspar Friedrich, the temporal finality of Altamont and Kenneth Anger, the bare feet grounded to the soil of Träd Gräs och Stenar, and the beautiful desolation of Doc Boggs’ early 20th century Appalachian hollers.

ZU
For over fifteen years, Zu’s modus operandi of straddling and abusing musical genres has resulted in over fifteen unique album releases across labels such as Ipecac, Atavistic and Headz (Japan). Their experimental amalgam of metal, math, no-wave, noise and electronics, led acclaimed composer John Zorn to describe their sound as « a powerful and expressive music that totally blows away what most bands do these days ».
Five years since their last full length on Ipecac, the critically acclaimed Carboniferous, and following a three year hiatus, Zu returned in May 2014 with the release of a brand new EP, Goodnight Civilization (Trost Records) and with a line up change that introduced the mighty Gabe Serbian, best known as the drummer for the legendary Californian band, The Locust.

CHARLES GAYLE TRIO
Charles Gayle – ts / Ksawery Wojcinski – db / Roger Turner – dr
There is no player on the scene today with the emotional wallop of
CHARLES GAYLE. His later discs – particularly Ancient of Days –
manifest a mature improvisational talent that can stand with any
saxophonist’s today. If you are interested in improvised music, you
owe it to yourself to hear him.
A gentle and humble artist, he is clearly one of the greatest
saxophone players in the FreeJazz tradition.  Born and raised in
Buffalo, he was much influenced by the church, where he grew up
singing and playing music, but also deeply affected by the racism that
he experienced in his urban environment.  Christianity is deeply felt
by Mr. Gayle and is integral to his music.  Mr. Gayle is a musician
who excels at whatever instrument he plays, be it sax or piano or
bass, as he will demonstrate so well. Primarily self-taught, he is
tireless in his commitment to the music. He has played music all his
life, be it on the streets where he lived for some time, or in fine
European concert halls where he has been met with great enthusiasm.
Now he is 75, yet he refuses to lay back and rest on his musical
accomplishments, for fear that the music might lose its ability to
move us – Charles Gayle does not play for himself, but to serve.
He has said about his character “Streets” that he dons that
attire so that he can get out of the way to let the Music shine.  His
intention is to move and inspire, and he has dedicated his life to
this goal.

SALONSKI

As a free noise trio, dQtç play organic improvisation adhering to chaos and its multiple asperities, stubbornly replicates, dissects, and deconstructs them, generating intense music, brutal, primal, like a trance supported by ecstatic rhythms and long feverish progressions.

KING AYISOBA
This is the traditional kologo music from the Upper East Region of Ghana brought with the energy and flavor of the twenty first century. King Ayisoba sings in Frafra, Twi and in English and is a big star in Ghana. There is a whole new scene now starting after King Ayisoba introduced the super catchy kologo beats to the bigger audiences in Ghana and abroad. The kologo is a two string guitar with a calabash gourd resonator, it is rhythmic and melodic at the same time. The King is bringing other musicians and dancers on this tour, dancing the traditional Frafra dia and kologo dances from the area of Bongo in Northern Ghana. The dance consists of very high jumbs and originates from hunting rituals. Aboku Adortanga (dancer and dorgo player) is King Ayisoba’s brother and is a master in playing the « Dorgo », a special horn from Northern Ghana used in the traditional Frafra tradition of music. The sound resembles a lamb calling out loud and was original used by the Frafra people in the forest to gather the village people to come and hunt. Gemeka is an absolute master in playing the guluku, a local drum from Bolgatanga Soko in Northern Ghana. Ayuune Sule plays the sinyaka, a kalebas filled with dry berries that sounds like a giant maracas and is thrown and hit in a magical way!

GONE BALD
Gone Bald is a noiserock band that was born in Zagreb (Croatia) in 1994. Shortly after birth, the band hitch-hiked their way to Amsterdam (Netherlands) and that’s where the band still lives, even though guitarist Razorblade Jr. is the only original member still playing in the band.
The band released tapes, cd’s, a 7” single and more on labels like Kekere Aquarium (Croatia), 100% (Netherlands), FBWL (Belgium), Interstellar Records (Austria) and Narrominded (NL). Over the years, Gone Bald has played hundreds of shows in every possible place from squat to highbrow theatre. Gone Bald has toured Holland, Belgium. Luxemburg, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France, Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia, and shared the stage with bands like Jesus Lizard, Butthole Surfers, Sebadoh, Ninewood, The Ex, Don Caballero, Flying Luttenbachers, Today Is The Day and Chinese Stars. The noiserock guitarsound has always been the foundation of the music, but there’s also influences from mathrock and grunge to free-jazz, emo and new-wave.

SILK SAW
Aſter 9 years of silence, here’s the 11th album from the unclassifiable Brussels-based duo.
With their usual tamping drums  (just mention the two parts of « The Decision to Exist » or « Same Area », led by a ferocious 808), a regular bass guitar hammering, some bare minimum poor voices, threatened violins, skinbound flute and oboe here and there, a distorted furious piano everywhere and finally some tiny cautious optimism (the extra- human guitar in « Enough Slaps »).

TERRINE
Terrine is a French solo punk/industrial. Kind of child full of energy and making fun about ‘rock rude boys’, she shows a certain shade of noise around industrial 80’s music like Big Stick, TG, Club Moral… She try with her Amiens city’s friends to pretending create the nuke from the year ‘quatre-vindus’ (a pun with the french 80’s and indus).

Thank you.

All the best.
