LADY MAISERY
Lady Maisery are an English folk vocal harmony trio composed of Hannah
James (vocals, piano accordion, clogs, foot percussion) Hazel Askew
(vocals, concertina, harp, bells) and Rowan Rheingans (vocals, fiddle,
banjo, bansitar).
Lady Maisery sing traditional and contemporary folk songs as well as
exploring the tradition of diddling or tune singing, which has
nearlydied out in England, but is still prevalent in Scandinavia and
other parts of Europe.
RAFAEL ANTON IRISSARI
Rafael Anton Irisarri is an American composer, multi-instrumentalist,
electronic music producer, interdisciplinary artist and curator.
Predominantly associated with ambient, drone, post-minimalist, and
modern classical music, Irisarri recorded output captures an essential
vision of floating tones, deep pulsing bass and textural electronics.
His use of ostinato phrases taps into minimalist ideals while
atmospheric layers of effects suggests a more cinematic quality in his
productions. In all, Irisarri compositions are deeply emotive and epic
to the point of being symphonic.
SHARON GAL

Beresford, David Toop, Steve Noble, Alex Ward, John Edwards,Dylan

compositions; L’esprit d’escalier – for voices in a staircase, Toy
Orchestra – for children and adults, Long Drone – for a large ensemble
of various instruments, Gals with Guitars.
She is a founder member of London’s arts radio, Resonance 104.4
FM and have been presenting and producing
various programmes, including; Diggers, with
Edwin “Savage Pencil” Pouncey, Venus Rising, In Search of
Inspiration , and Stereo Cilia, a weekly sound-diary.

Chocolate Monk / Emanem / Ecstatic Yod /American Tapes & The Tapeworm
Labels, with the recent Voice Studies, on My Dance the Skull.
Z’ev
Z’EV (born Stefan Joel Weisser on February 8, 1951 in Los Angeles,
California) is an American poet, percussionist, and sound artist. After
studying various world music traditions at CalArts, he began creating
his own percussion sounds out of industrial materials for a variety of
record labels. He is regarded as a pioneer of industrial music.
In 1983, critic Roy Sablosky wrote: “Z’EV doesn’t just break the rules,
he changes them. Journalist Louis Morra wrote in 1983: “Z’EV is a
consummate example of contemporary performance art, as well as modern
composition and theater.” and, “Z’EV realizes many of modernist art’s
ultimate goals: primitivism, improvisation, multi-media/conjunction of
art forms, the artist as direct creator.
His work with text and sound has been influenced by Kabbalah, as well as
African, Afro-Caribbean and Indonesian music and culture. He has studied
Ewe (Ghana) music, Balinese gamelan, and Indian tala.
POLE
But neither hip-hop nor dub were the defining elements in Betke’s first
two musical phases. Betke has never been a reggae or hip-hop artist. His
music isn’t based in a scene or in private experience, but in musical
structures, which he decontextualizes in order to integrate them into
his own personal musical language. In Betke’s 2007 release “steingarten”
there are no more references holding the music together. Electronics,
loops, minimalism – all of that is there, of course, but now it’s all
operating in a space all its own. Betke’s work, created in a vacuum,
independent of musical trends and clearly defined reference systems, is
not predicated on anything or prefacing anything – it’s a timeless
artistic achievement.
TJONG POW
Tjong Pow is an improvisation project that wishes to re-examine our
human relation with the technology we use in music and the methods we
apply to it. How do we get to understand our technology? To what level
do we allow ourselves to know it? And what happens as we go further and
deeper into that relationship?
DEAN McPHEE
Solo electric guitarist Dean McPhee’s spacious, hypnotic and echo-laden
music brings together a broad range of influences including Medieval
Folk, Dub, Post Rock, Kosmische Musik, Desert Blues, Moroccan Trance and
Ambient/Drone, but his singular approach to the instrument is very much
his own. Having developed his unique style of playing over years of
experimentation and improvisation, his critically acclaimed releases on
the Blast First Petite, Folklore Tapes, World in Winter and Hood Faire
labels and mesmerising live performances have cemented his reputation as
being one of the most original and distinctive musicians in the current
crop of post-Fahey guitar soli. « On the Wire” presenter and legendary
champion of unusual and esoteric music Steve Barker recently described
Dean as being “definitely one of the leading contemporary guitar
stylists in the UK, and in the world” and his 2015 album « Fatima’s Hand »
has been widely praised by sources such as The Wire, Uncut, Record
Collector, Music OMH, DOA, Drowned in Sound, MOJO Magazine and ATTN:
Magazine.
RACKER&ORPHAN
Racker&Orphan is a duo consisting of two of the UK’s most enigmatic and
artful experimentalists, Sam McLoughlin (N Racker/Sam and the Plants)
and David Chatton-Barker aka David Orphan (Folklore Tapes). Using
handmade instruments and analogue projections, their live performances
are absorbing and unpredictable. Racker&Orphan’s 10″ album « Sounds of
Insects » was released earlier this year on the Hood Faire label and is a
direct homage to an old Scholastic/Folkways field recordings LP of the
same name by Albro T. Gaul and found Racker&Orphan using a mysterious
blend of specialised field recording and sympathetic reassembling to
create mysterious and absorbing insectile soundscapes. Sam and David
were recently seen supporting Richard Skelton at St John’s Church in
London, performing improvised music and live projections using organic
materials and microscopic film as part of a live performance of Rob St
John’s « Surface Tension » project. Earlier this year « Sounds of Insects »
received a great four star review from Record Collector and was
described by « We Need No Swords » blog as being « one of the most
diverting and interesting releases of the year”.
Thanks for reading.
I hope to hear from you as soon as possible.
All the best.
