FRANCOIS VIROT
Hyperactive musician FRANÇOIS VIROT was born in Lyon a little sooner
than two decades ago, and he seemed to have learnt everything you need
to learn in that little time period. Additionally to playing music in
solitary fashion, a wooden guitar displayed on his laps, he plays
(hitting hard) the drum in ballistic noise pop trio CLARA CLARA with
his brother Charles, comes up with crazy ideas for wonderful
side-projects (among them Sea Ahoma, which uses two drums and one
guitar) and spends most of his time on the road, where he only stops
to force audiences into levitating at the back of basements and sell
one of his 17389 handmade demos that he recorded for the occasion. A
complete premature talent, François resembles those little wonders of
the internet generation who have tried it all so early in their lives
that at the age of 20 they’re already old sages. He learnt the
guitar when he was seven to mimic KURT COBAIN, PRONG or BRIAN ADAMS,
discovered THE JESUS LIZARD, THE MELVINS, THE EX and SONIC YOUTH only
two years later, and eventually formed his first band with his brother
Charles at the age of twelve, the punk crust unit les Casseroles
Brûlées (i.e. The Burnt Pans). And the following day, you can find
him on the road in Canada, Germany, down your alley, recording cover
versions of JAY-Z or JOBIM, looking at his own reflection in a
campfire and finishing off his first official album almost at the same
time.

DAVID BAUSSERON
Murmur Metal is a on-going protean project in continuous progress.
A noise ritual with metal objects, leftover of our civilization,
hanging, laying, standing, recognizable, unlikely, found, recycled,
industrial, natural, random, chosen…
And then it grows, it swells, it springs, it drags, it scrapes, it flies
away and here it comes, invisible, already there: sound!

MASAYOSHI FUJITA
Under his electronic solo project alias, el fog, Masayoshi combines
the vibraphone and analogue/digital electronic sound and textured
noises using divers experimental methods.
El fog’s music is inspired by electronic music, jazz, dub, hip hop,
classic etc…,
and also the silence and deepness of the fog and the mountains and the
gravity within.

Thanks for reading.

Please get back to me if you’re interested in setting up a gig for one
of these musicians.

All the best.

Alain

LOLITA TERRORIST SOUND feat. N.U. Unruh (E. Neubauten)
Lolita Terrorist Sounds is the stage name of Maurizio Vitale and very often includes special guests and collaborations. In 2014 Lolita Terrorist Sounds performs for the first time new material as a trio at Schlagstrom Festival (in the same line-up with Carter Tutti plays Chris and Cosey from Throbbing Gristle) and as opening of the Liber Null Party season in Berlin.
Maurizio Vitale is active in a number of artistic fields as drummer, guitar player, performer, singer. Recently he has been collaborating with such artists as : Bob Rutman, Doudou N’diaye Rose, Kristof Hahn (Swans), NU Unruh (Einsturzende Neubauten).
Frontman Maurizio Vitale will be supported by a full international line-up that includes the American drummer Colin Hacklander (Hacklander/Hatam, Capillary Action) and the German multi-talented musician and producer Gerrit Haasler (Mercydesign, Kunst als Strafe/ collaboration with Steven Stapleton (Nurse with wound)).

JOSEPH BOWIE/JAMES CHANCE
Joseph Bowie (born October 17, 1953) in St Louis, Missouri is an American bandleader, trombonist, and founder of the seminal jazz fusion band, Defunkt. The group has been blending jazz with funk and punk rock music for more than three consecutive decades.
Bowie is the younger brother of world renowned avant-garde jazz trumpeter Lester Bowie, and saxophonist Byron Bowie. He began his career with the Black Artists Group a musical collective from St. Louis, then later joined the Human Arts Ensemble (founded by Charles « Bobo » Shaw), the Ethnic Heritage Ensemble, and became involved with various rhythm and blues projects alongside no wave saxophonist James Chance.

James Chance, also known as James White (born April 20, 1953 as James Siegfried in Milwaukee, Wisconsin),[1] is an American saxophonist, keyboard player, songwriter and singer.
A key figure in No Wave, Chance has been playing a combination of improvisational jazz-like music and punk in the New York music scene since the late 1970s, in such bands as Teenage Jesus and the Jerks, James Chance and the Contortions, James White and the Blacks (as he appeared in the film Downtown 81), The Flaming Demonics, James Chance & the Sardonic Symphonics, James Chance and Terminal City, and James Chance and Les Contortions.[1]
Chance differed from some of his no wave compatriots by possessing (and demanding from his band) a certain level of musical skill and talent. His music can be described as combining the freeform playing of Ornette Coleman with the solid funk rhythm of James Brown, though filtered through a punk rock lens.

GUERILLA TOSS
Freak-out post-punk on NNA tapes like a troupe of four-year-olds in a hurry to redecorate your front room with a complete set of easy-squeeze poster paints. Actually though this Boston band can really play, with twangy funk, precision synth wiggles, complex math-rock structures and all kinds of detail hiding within the chaotic thrills. The distorted, outraged vocals riding the lurching guitars like a cartoon character are a particular delight. This is for those into the crazier strains of late-seventies / early-eighties post-punk, and particularly for those us who mourn Les Georges Leningrad. Maniacal.

Thanks for reading and listening.

I hope to hear from you asap.

Regards.

Alain

BOOKING OFFERS: LAWRENCE ENGLISH, BULBUL

Posted in Uncategorized on septembre 23, 2014 by debloque

Dear all,

I’m booking some dates for LAWRENCE ENGLISH, BULBUL

LAWRENCE ENGLISH (Australia)
http://bandcamp.com/tag/lawrence-english
Availability: Between 1st and 4th December 2014 + from 10th December onwards
Territory: Europe

BULBUL (Austria)
http://bulbul.bandcamp.com/
Availability: Between 15th and 20th February 2015 + from early March onwards
Territory: Belgium

LAWRENCE ENGLISH
Lawrence English is composer, media artist and curator based in Australia. Working across an eclectic array of aesthetic investigations, English’s work prompts questions of field, perception and memory. He investigates the politics of perception via live performance and installation to create works that ponder subtle transformations of space and ask audiences to become aware of that which exists at the edge of perception.

BULBUL
The first sign of Bulbul we can find is the release of their self-titled debut album in 1997, Bulbul a one man project of guitarist/vocalist Raumschiff Engelmayr at the time. With Derhunt linking up on bass, the band released second and again self-titled album in 1999, via as the first via Trost Records. Drummer Ddkern joined not long after as the band continued to experiment with sound, imagination, and their fans minds through their third and fourth albums in 2003 and 2005 respectively, again under the same monikers as the others. 2006 saw fifth album BlllBlll unleashed whilst the Patrick Pulsinger produced 6 was uncaged via Exile On Mainstream two years later to strong acclaim and attention. Hirn Fein Hacken is as mentioned the band’s return, again via EOM, and takes little time in slipping under the skin of the senses and psyche as well as giving the passions an irresistible creative toxicity to feast upon.

Please get back to me if you want to set up a gig either for Lawrence English or for Bulbul.

All the best.

BOOKING OFFERS: CRAZY WORLD OF ARTHUR BROWN, TROPHIES

Posted in Uncategorized on septembre 18, 2014 by debloque

Dear all,

Here arte my last offers for you to enjoy the week-end:

CRAZY WORLD OF ARTHUR BROWN, TROPHIES, POWERDOVE

CRAZY WORLD OF ARTHUR BROWN (UK)

Availability: April and May 2015
Territories: Belgium, The Nertherlands, France

TROPHIES (Italy/Australia/Japan)

Availability: Between 5th and 17th May 2015
Territory: Europe

POWERDOVE (USA)

Availability: 25 SEPTEMBER 2014
Territory: Belgium

CRAZY WORLD OF ARTHUR BROWN
Brown quickly earned a reputation for both his powerful voice which spanned four octaves and his outlandish performances, including the use of a burning metal helmet, which led to occasional mishaps. During an early appearance at the Windsor Festival in 1967, Brown wore a colander on his head soaked in methanol. The fuel poured over his head by accident and caught fire; two bystanders doused the flames by pouring beer on Brown’s head, preventing any serious injury.[2] The flaming head then became an Arthur Brown signature. On occasion he also stripped naked while performing, most notably in Italy, where, after setting his hair on fire, he was arrested and deported.[3] He was also notable for the extreme make-up he wore onstage, which would later be reflected in the stage acts of Alice Cooper, Kiss and Marilyn Manson.

TROPHIES
Composer and sound artist Alessandro Bosetti is joined by Kenta Nagai, and Tony Buck for TROPHIES. Focusing on mantra loops of spoken/sung abstract and highly emotional poetry Bosetti has created a powerful trance band where voice and electronic sound melt with the hallucinatory fretless e-guitar playing of Kenta Nagai , and the patiently groovy and virtuoso pulses of Tony Buck. Throphies uses lenghty, repetitive and higlhy dinamic text-sound forms in a totally unique and genre defying way.

Trophies is a band that deal with sung/spoken loops and repetitive song structures. We repeat and repeat and repeat. Just words over and over. All the musical material is derived from speech patterns that we « translated » so that they can be played on instruments and sung again.

POWERDOVE
Powerdove is a sparse acoustic project of singer/songwriter Annie Lewandowski. After performing with her first band, Emma Zunz, she divided her time recording with Hawnay Troof, Xiu Xiu, and the Curtains. Her time in the latter band led to a working relationship with John Dieterich (the Curtains, Deerhoof) who recorded the song “Birdsong” for her 2009 self-titled EP, which was produced by William Ryan Fritch. Portland’s Circle Into Square Records released Powerdove’s full-length follow-up, Be Mine, in early 2011

Thanks for reading.

Enjoy your w-e and please get back to me.

Regards.

BOOKING OFFERS: LUDOVIK MATERIAL, IT’S EVERYONE ELSE, SHIELD PATTERNS.

Posted in Uncategorized on septembre 15, 2014 by debloque

Dear all,

I’m booking some dates for: LUDOVIK MATERIAL, IT’S EVERYONE ELSE, SHIELD PATTERNS.

LUDOVIK MATERIAL (Slovenia)

Between 16th and 18th November
North Of France/Belgium

IT’S EVERYONE ELSE (Slovenia)
http://itseveryoneelse.bandcamp.com/
Between 16th and 18th November
North Of France/Belgium

SHIELD PATTERNS (UK)
http://www.youtube.com/user/ShieldPatterns
Between 16th and 30th March 2014
Territories: France/Germany/Austria/Switzerland/Belgium/Netherlands.

LUDOVIK MATERIAL
Electronic punk-sounding music or punk sounding like electronic music,
that is the question? A Slovenian trio is one of those line-ups that
delve into the unknown. One of those bands joining the seemingly
unjoinable. Synthetic lines, distorted guitars and a barraging
percussion are n’sync with strong female vocals that together with
critical lyrics make an exciting sound package luring you to danc.

IT’S EVERYONE ELSE
t’s everyone else will shatter your preconceptions about electronic
music. They combine distorted synths, glitchy samples and two merciless
vocals to create an eclectic mix of industrial, hardcore, rock, noise
and pop. They are known for their wild live performances, which will
leave you feeling violated in the most pleasurable way.

SHIELD PATTERNS
Shield Patterns, the Manchester-based duo of Claire Brentnall and
Richard Knox, create intense, infectious and incredibly detailed
dark-pop music. Debut album ‘Contour Lines’ was released in June via
Gizeh Records and has gathered heavy praise from the press including a
five star review from The Skinny magazine.
The project started life in late 2012 with Brentnall working alone on a
bunch of home recorded demos. A chance meeting with Knox at her first
ever solo show was enough to form an interest in working together in
some capacity. Just a few months later and the duo were performing live
together whilst also working on the beginnings of new material that
would finally form the debut album. After retiring to the wilderness and
isolation of the North Wales countryside, that album was finally
complete.
There is a resolutely unique sound to the music Shield Patterns make. A
lush, fragile and rich soundworld… like falling – slowly, gracefully,
and not without hope, but still falling; a white shape in the darkness
tumbling downwards.
One live review suggests that Shield Patterns; ‘Borrow the dense, yet
richly stratified compositions from masters of rippling electronic
realms like Actress, Forest Swords and even (at times) Joy Orbison and
marry them to effortlessly avant-garde vocals that sound like Kate Bush
calling out to you from the unknown extents of of a whirling vortex’.
Not far from the mark indeed.

I hope to hear from you as soon as possible.

Regards.

Alain

BOOKING OFFERS: JOHN BUTCHER/GINO ROBAIR, PLUS INSTRUMENTS + DICK EL DEMASIADO

Posted in Uncategorized on septembre 11, 2014 by debloque

Dear all,

I’m booking some dates for JOHN BUTCHER/GINO ROBAIR, PLUS INSTRUMENTS + DICK EL DEMASIADO.

Availability: between 4th October and 3rd November (Plus Instruments

on 19th October + 3rd and 4th November for the duo
(Holland + Spain)
Territory:Europe

JOHN BUTCHER/GINO ROBAIR
Californian percussionist Gino Robair first played with Butcher in a
1997 recording session at Myles Boisen’s Oakland studio. Music from that
day have been released on two Meniscus CDs – Music on Seven Occasions &
Buddy Systems.
The next year they formed a trio with bassist Matthew Sperry (whom
Butcher had met at the 1995 Company concerts in Vancouver).
The trio recorded 12 Milagritos, and played the Vancouver Jazz Festival
in 2001.
It was a great shock when Matthew was killed by a car whilst cycling in
June 2003.
A site is dedicated to his memory.
Continuing as a duo, Robair and Butcher have toured extensively
releasing three duo CDs.
Various collaborations have proved valuable, including trios with koto
player Miya Masaoka, guitarist John Shiurba, trumpeter Liz Albee,
guitarist Derek Bailey, synthist Thomas Lehn and audio-visual artist
Bill Hsu.
Gino is also a vital part of the 7-piece John Butcher Group.

PLUS INSTRUMENTS + (DICK EL DEMASIADO)
Dick Verdult is a middle-aged Dutch man who also happens to be the
godfather of the experimental cumbia scene in Argentina. Better known as
Dick El Demasiado, the founder of the legendary Festicumex festival
recently returned to Buenos Aires to finish up a new album and play a
series of live shows. Just a few days after his arrival, he sat down for
an interview and asado at WhatsUp Buenos Aires headquarters to talk
about his life, his music and exactly how he started messing around with
all this stuff in the first place.
Until last year Truus was just a short footnote in the Dutch music
history. However in 2012 some events took place around the Dutch
“Ultra” music movement. Eindhoven native, Truus (ex Nasmak), was an
important component of this genre. She performed a series of concerts
in 2012, which was evident that Plus Instruments did not only survive
the sands of time, but in fact appealed to an entire younger more
current public.

Thanks for reading.

Please contact me if you want to set up a gig for one of these
musicians.

All the best.

BOOKING OFFERS: GALLON DRUNK, BRUTAL BLUES

Posted in Uncategorized on septembre 9, 2014 by debloque

Dear all,

I’m offering GALLON DRUNK and BRUTAL BLUES.

GALLON DRUNK (UK)

Territory: Belgium

BRUTAL BLUES
http://nervealtar.bandcamp.com/album/brutal-blues
Availability: 20th October
Territory: Anywhere between Rotterdam and Copenhagen

GALLON DRUNK
Gallon Drunk are an English alternative rock band formed in London in 1988. Their sound contains a variety of influences, from punk to blues and jazz, and is noted for its dark subject matter.
he band formed in 1988 with an initial lineup of James Johnston (vocals, guitar, keyboards) and Mike Delanian (bass), who by 1990 had recruited Nick Combe (drums).[1][2]

After debut single « Snakepit » the band signed to the Clawfist label, releasing the « Ruby » single in late 1990 (a cover of the song by New York band The Silver Apples).with Nick Combe on drums and Joe Byfield on maracas. The band released three singles in 1991, one of which (« Some Fool’s Mess ») was named ‘Single of the Week’ by the NME.,[1][3] by which point Combe had been replaced by Max Decharne. The band’s debut album, You, the Night…and the Music, was released in 1992, with a US release on Rykodisc.[3][4] The following year they enjoyed popularity in the wake of their second album, the Mercury Prize-nominated From The Heart of Town, which saw the band sign to Sire Records and play venues in the U.S., such as the Hollywood Bowl and Madison Square Garden in New York, as a guest of Morrissey.[5][6] During UK dates for From The Heart Of Town saxophonist/keyboard player Terry Edwards joined the band,[1] having played previously as a session player on the album.[5] Following the subsequent European and U.S. tours, both as headline, and also supporting PJ Harvey, drummer Max Décharné left the band (later fronting The Flaming Stars), to be replaced by Ian White in 1993, who remains a member of the band to the present.[7][8][9] The new line-up of the band followed with The Traitor’s Gate E.P. (1995) and in 1996 the acclaimed In The Long Still Night (now signed to City Slang).[3] The « To Love Somebody » single, released in March 1997 was the band’s last release before dissolving for almost three years.[3] The band returned in 2000 with the Blood Is Red EP, now with Jeremy Cottingham having replaced Mike Delanian on bass.[3] The band’s soundtrack Nicholas Triandafyllidis’s 1999 film Black Milk followed in March.[10][11] In 2002 they released the album Fire Music.[5] Following a hiatus during which Johnston toured and recorded as a full-time member of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds,[1][12] Gallon Drunk returned in 2007 with The Rotten Mile, with Simon Wring taking over of bass, and the remaining core members of Johnston, White and Edwards. A live album, Live At Klub 007, was released in 2008.
After Simon Wring’s death in 2011, the band recorded The Road Gets Darker From Here (released in 2012) in Hamburg’s leading analogue studio Clouds Hill. The subsequent tours for the album saw Leo Kurunis join the band on bass guitar, with this line-up then returning to Clouds Hill to record The Soul Of The Hour, due for release in March 2014 on Clouds Hill Recordings.
Side projects
In 1993, Johnston and Edwards collaborated with writer Derek Raymond on the Dora Suarez album and associated multimedia performance at the National Film Theatre the following year, based on Raymond’s novel I Was Dora Suarez.[13][14] Founder, frontman and sole consistent member James Johnston has also played in Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, with whom he joined for a Lollapalooza tour in 1994 before serving as a full-time member from 2003—2008, and a member of psychedelic rock band Faust from 2006-2012.[3][5] Johnston and White are also currently members of Big Sexy Noise with Lydia Lunch. Johnston, White and Edwards had previously worked with Lunch in live shows.[15][16]

Thanks for reading.

I hope to hear from you very soon.

All the best.

Alain
