Availability: Early June 2020
Territory: Switzerland, France, Belgium

TIM SHAW: A hypnotic combination of DIY electronics, found objects, light and sound circuits, Points of Failure is an ever-changing ode to the detritus of the modern world. The performances of Tim Shaw are live experiments and explorations of the musical potential of everyday materials. He generates mesmeric environments of sound and light for audiences, building hybrid mechanisms for making noise and unfolding a messy and eclectic multi-sensory experience. Bells, air horns, sound synths, water, self-made stringed instruments, light bulbs, loudspeakers, bass shakers and other miscellaneous devices salvaged from scrap heaps, streets, artist studios and houses will populate each venue, as he fills the performance space with a sprawl of sound, light and dry ice. Each performance is unique; the show is reworked and refined throughout the tour, often in response to each

PHILL NIBLOCK is an intermedia artist using music, film, photography, video and computers. He makes thick, loud drones of music, filled with microtones of instrumental timbres which generate many other tones in the performance space. Simultaneously, he presents films / videos which look at the movement of people working, or computer driven black and white abstract images floating through time. He was born in Indiana in 1933. Since the mid-60’s he has been making music and intermedia performances which have been shown at numerous venues around the world among which: The Museum of Modern Art; The Wadsworth Atheneum; the Kitchen; the Paris Autumn Festival; Palais des Beaux Arts, Brussels; Institute of Contemporary Art, London; Akademie der Kunste, Berlin; ZKM; Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts at Harvard; World Music Institute at Merkin Hall NYC. Since 1985, he has been the director of the Experimental Intermedia Foundation in New York where he has been an artist/member since 1968. He is the producer of Music and Intermedia presentations at EI since 1973 (about 1000 performances) and the curator of EI’s XI Records label. In 1993 he was part of the formation of an Experimental Intermedia organization in Gent, Belgium – EI v.z.w. Gent – which supports an artist-in-residence house and installations there. Dear all,

NOMON (Japan/USA)
https://soundcloud.com/shayna-dunkelm…/sets/nomon-ep/s-P9UV0
Availability: 9th June – 7th July
Territory: Europe + UK
Nomon is percussionists Shayna and Nava Dunkelman. Playing percussion is as visual as it is aural. The trajectory of the hands and sticks, shift of body weight, the eyes aiming to strike – The physicality of the performance has a choreographic quality as it is. The body follows a sequence of movements when immersed in playing the array of percussive instruments surrounding it. The inception of Nomon came from wanting to highlight that aspect of the performance. We use a Rorschach-like percussion set up to capture the naturally occurring mirror-image synchronization. Now, who can ask for a better duo partner than your drummer sister? The music is powerful and intense, but sometimes peaceful and serene.

EUGENE CHADBOURNE – JOE SACHSE (USA/D)

JOE SACHSE, the enfant terrible of the (East) German jazz scene, is active as a guitar player since about 40 years and worked almost with everybody in the former GDR and lots of international stars. He is combining elements from improvised (jazz) music and rock improvisation – as as well Eugene Chadbourne does since as well almost 40 years. In this context he has been capturing and exploring sounds from, for example, volcanic earth, ice, atmospheric phenomena, nuclear power plants and deserted places.[1] His piece « Labyrinthitis » was created from sounds recorded inside his inner ear.[1] Recording tools used include accelometers, hydrophones and home-built electromagnetic receivers.
COCANHA (France)

Availability: 10th May 2020
Territory: Belgium

Three voices, grounded, resonant, moving with sharp and edgy percussions. Tolosa is the trio’s meeting point who proudly sings its Occitan language of daily life, an absolute playground for them. The three musicians dig into the traditional repertoire and incorporate this sonorous and vivid material. They emphasise its dancing nature and deliver it as a exuberant percussive polyphony.
ANDY MOOR (UK) + ANNE-JAMES CHATON (France)

Availability: 1st April
Territory: Belgium, Luxembourg, France

The duo Anne-James Chaton and Andy Moor has produced original works where poetry and guitar combine in explorations of thematic axes. With the project ‘Heretics’, of which Tout Ce Que Je Sais (All I know) is the second part, they revive the most obscure, violent, erotic passions, summoning the great figures of their personal mythologies. In the company of Caravaggio, Marquis de Sade, William Burroughs and figures such as Jose Mujica, the duo immerses the listener in another world history peopled by radical thinkers. ‘Heretics’ pays homage to those heroes who used transgression and excess as a necessary means for the advance of humanity. In this new album, recorded live at the Carreau du Temple in Paris on the occasion of Périphérie du 35e Marché de la Poésie (2017), Anne-James Chaton and Andy Moor deliver a radical work at the confines of literary and musical creation.

Thanks for reading.

I hope to hear from you asap.

All the best.
