Territory: BeneluxPole is the artistic name of Stefan Betke (born 18 February 1967), a
German electronic music artist commonly associated with the glitch genre
as well as dubtronica.
Beginning with his dark blue debut album « 1 » from 1998, Pole laid a
foundation of bass, dub and a defective pole filter as the point from
which to explore and implement new sonic architectures. Up until the
turn of the millennium, these expeditions grew into a trilogy of albums
entitled « 1 », « 2 » and « 3 », appearing in the colors blue, red and yellow.
The three albums are now considered milestones of electronic music.MAGGIE NICOLS [UK] + CAROLINE KRAABLE [USA]MAGGI BICOLS joined London’s legendary Spontaneous Music Ensemble in
1968 as a free improvisation vocalist. She then became active running
voice workshops with an involvement in local experimental theatre. She
later joined the group Centipede, led by Keith Tippets and in 1977, with
musician/composer Lindsay Cooper, formed the remarkable Feminist
Improvising Group. She continues performing and recording challenging
and beautiful work, in music and theatre, either in collaborations with
a range of artists (Irene Schweitzer, Joelle Leandre, Ken Hyder,
Caroline Kraabel) as well as solo.
CAROLINE KRAABLE is a London-based improviser, saxophonist, artist and
composer. In 2022 Kraabel has brought together a large group made up of
all sorts of women, non-binary, and transgender improvisers:
ONe_Orchestra New. Other active groups include a duo with cellist Khabat
Abas; the Transitions Trio (with Charlotte Hug and Maggie Nicols); Fit
To Burst, a song-based trio with Sarah Washington and John Edwards; and

Vaisman-Maturana that incorporates live poetry from guest poets,
including Moor Mother.ALAIN VERGIFOSSE (Belgium)https://transonic-records.bandcamp.com/album/spectres-neonsAvailability: On request
Territories: Europe + UKSound artist, experimental videographer and photographer,
Alain Wergifosse explores every possible interaction between sound,
light and matter in space-time.
His work is most often presented in the form of interactive and
contextual immersive installations or in the form of sound and/or visual
performances.
Insatiable explorer of sound, image and the media since the early 80s,
Alain Wergifosse amplifies all kinds of resonant objects and specializes
in the electronic processing of feedback to achieve his organic
compositions and improvisations. He has traveled the world solo and with
various groups and collective projects (Obmuz, Macromassa, SpecOp,
Colectivo Anatomic among others).FANNA-FI-ALLAH (International)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lw5_w19EmsUAvailability: Spring + Summer 2023
Territories: EuropeIt’s hard to imagine a musical experience that could be more soulful,
ecstatic and stirring than the Sufi Qawwali of Fanna-Fi-Allah. This
internationally renowned ensemble has been celebrated for its 22 years
on the road, carrying the flame of tradition, devotion, and mysticism
with them as they perform around the globe. With a powerful soaring
chorus accompanied by energetic rhythms of tabla and group clapping,
Fanna-Fi-Allah gives audiences a glimpse into the vibrant, living
musical heart of the Sufi mystics.HASSAN K (France/Iran)https://youtu.be/E-taKVplmWU

Territory: Europe + UKStraying away from a folklore dominated by the binary kicks of
contemporary Oriental electro,
Keyvane Alinaghi becomes Hassan K. and transcends the fluctuant borders
of Persian music.
Keyvane is a French-Iranian artist, living and working in Lille.
Following a cursus in multimedia development, he has very quickly
drifted towards computer image creation. As much an electro-acoustic
music composer (within the framework of the master classes offered by
the research and musical production studio Art Zoyd) as a graphic
designer, his desire to mix sonic and graphic media within interactive
spaces came to fruition in 2006 when he joined the « Creation and digital
engineering- Interactive stage design » Master’s degree at the University
of Valenciennes. He has there developed
interactive installations which processed sound and image in real time,
and has created ergonomic control interfaces for his live performances.I hope to hear from you soon.Happy new ‘ears’AlainSome Noise • Rue Timmermans, 16 – 1190 Brussels, BelgiumYou received this email as a customer or subscriber of Some Noise. Click here to leave mailing list

XHOSA COLE [UK] https://xhosacole.bandcamp.com/ Availability: Autumn 2023

smallhaus), an experimental psychedelic musician. LoS takes cues from
classic 60s and 70s kosmische, space rock, progressive, ambient and New
Age music, alongside noise rock and improvised and drone acts to create
a contemporary take on psychedelia, mixed in with reverence for the
natural world.
As smallhaus and LoS David has been featured on BBC 6 Music’s The Freak
Zone, Resonance FM, NTS, Trust The Doc and Grenzwellen. David is based
in Todmorden, West Yorkshire. He is signed to Dimple Discs. ANDREA TAEGGI [Italy] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nz_UZYKb744 Availability: On request in 2023 (Saturdays and Sundays are prefered)
Territories: Europe + UK Made under the influence of magic mushrooms, ‘Mycorrhiza’ sees the
Italian electro-acoustic producer and percussionist embark an always
admirable and worthwhile venture (within reason) and relay results that
thankfully don’t recall your mate wittering on about blue squirrels or
losing their duds in a Maccies. Rather, Taeggi focussed his extra
energies supplied by the mischievous mushie gods to twist the knobs and
faders of Willem Twee’s well stocked studio into a rhizomatic, networked
conversation between the machines that describes the sparking
electricity inside his bean with a natural, if abstract, logic and comes
to reflect the historic examples of Italian electronic created at
Luciano Berio and Bruno Maderna’s Studio di Fonologia RAI in 1950’sMilan
– the original inspiration for Willem Twee’s studio set-up. CAMILA NEBBIA [Argentina] + BARBARA TOGANGER [Sweden] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPQAa0eUAzQ

improvisation and sound collage. She currently includes laptop and
turntable in her improvisations. HOMEBOY SANDMAN [USA] https://homeboysandman.bandcamp.com/album/still-champion Availability: 17th February – 11th March 2023
Territories: Europe Consistency and longevity have become the defining traits of
Queens-native Homeboy Sandman, whose first EP turns 15 years old this
month. Though nowhere near as verbose as his regular collaborator Aesop
Rock, he’s almost as prolific, with a consistent stream of albums and
mixtapes under his belt, as well as full-length collaborations with the
likes of Blu and Quelle Chris. His latest album There In Spirit,
produced entirely by Detroit beatsmith and emcee Illingsworth, is more
condensed than his previous solo records: It plays like an unassuming
notebook more than a full-fledged piece of art. ANDY MOOR, FARIDA AMADOU, TONY BUCK (UK/Belgium/Australia) Availability: 20th March
Territory: Belgium A splinter new trio initiated by Tony Buck with Andy Moor, and Farida
Amadou. Tony and Andy have had a close working relationship for over

Kletka Red and Dutch band The Ex as well as a duo which they toured for
the first time in 2021. Farida Amadou, is a Belgium based bass player
with whom Tony has an intense shared interest in opening up the role and
relationships of drums and bass and their influence on momentum and
energy »
Together they will produce a dissonant multi layered hyper energetic
poly rhythmic explosion and celebration of music and sound from all
corners of the earth.
All the best. Alain
