Dear all,

Please find here some bands and artist§s who will be touring soon.

Feel free to contact me if yoiu want to set up a concert/performance for one of them.

BENJAMON FINGER, JAMES PLOTKIN, MIA ZABELKA (USA/Austria)

Availabiloity: September, October, November 2019
Territories: Europe + UK
The trio creates a freeform sound that invokes the spirit of both concrete and electronic music, while incorporating both traditional and
unorthodox instrumentation. Benjamin Finger‘s heavily processed signature collages of sound are embellished by the organic and of ten similarly processed strings of Zabelka and Plotkin, resulting in a world of audio that buzzes and drones, glitches and slithers, caree-
ning into unstable musical territories

HAROUNA SAMAKE (Mali)
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/m05cvg6x2fhqxo6/AAAAYvHq5anR410MLtt2h2hsa?dl=0
Availability: May, June, July 2019
Territories: Europe + UK
Malian musician Harouna Samake, long time Kamale n’goni player for the legendary Salif Keita, is releasing his first solo album. A master of the instrument, and recognised as one of Mali’s foremost Kamale n’goni players, Harouna has a long history of award winning musical collaborations.
Harouna arranged and recorded on five of Salif Keita’s albums, and has recorded on more than 50 albums with artists including Blick Bassy, Djessou Mory Kanté,
Etienne Mbappé, Bela Fleck, Cheick Tidiane Seck and Bassekou Kouyate.
On the album he plays groovy, energetic Mali Blues & Mandingo styles in complex compositions. His texts on Human Rights and society are song in Bambara with a few French and English lines. Beautifully orchestrated with some of Mali’s top musicians, the music is determined to inspire dance floors and listeners around the world.
The album was recorded at Harouna’s Studio in Bamako, and produced by Harouna & Carolina Vallejo, One World.
Released on One World Records August 16th 2018.

ITALIA 90 (UK)

Availability: On request
Territory: Europe
Italia 90 sound like many of the bands we may have heard on bad quality cassettes in the late 70’s.
The sound this four piece create, recalls those early Wire recordings, Joy Division cassettes and Gang of Four bootlegs at least one mate would own having sneaked a cassette recorder into the venue to record and listen to a few weeks later. Tapes that probably still exist, unplayable now, they’ve been nearly out the door more than once but are still nice to look at as a reminder of times gone by.

ALBATRE (The Netherlands)

Availability: Beween 7th and 17th June
Territories: Europe + UK
The screwed up, angry, either riff-based or totally abstract punk-metal-free jazz-noise played by Albatre may be one of the very best offers coming from the Rotterdam underground scene. Everything emerged in distortion and with a sometimes heavy, sometimes crazily fast beat. But if the music is explosive and always searching for the maximum impact, there’s a place for nuance and for detail, with the three contributors throwing intriguing elements to the magma of sound. All wrapped with live visuals by their long road partner and fourth member of this unit, video artist 5upleft.

EMILIO BERNE (Italy)
https://vimeo.com/268043715
Availability: 21st March
Territory: To be confirmed
Improvisation and noise influences researching closed to performing arts. Playing snare table thinking noise turntablism, searching sound as an analog synthesizers musician. Attracted by error beats and defective functions, this set is a crack of simulated electronics composed by amplified metal strings on cymbals and spinner on snare, fragments of glitch music and abstract noise

LEECHFEAST (The Netherlands)
https://leechfeast.bandcamp.com/
Availability: From 23rd May onwards
Territory: Belgium
The madness of decaying urban jungle, endless nights without sleep, strange dreams that you remain thinking about through the next day, chronic back pain, cramped up stomach, pathethic porcelain faces around you with a permanent smile, the fact that you can relate to the cat that lives with you more than you can to other people and years of repressed aggression that needs to get out badly

THE SCORPIOS (Sudan)

Availability: On request
Territory: Europe
Hailing from Central Sudan and now based in London after fleeing the fundamentalist takeover in that region, the Scorpios are a band that melds Arabic rhythms and guitar chops (and a kind of swooning cyclical ecstasy) with a raw Eastern funk feel, properly dismantling cultural barriers in pursuit of a unifying rhythmic bliss. Supported by an international backing band heavy bass, synths, horns and percussions drive through traditional Sudanese forms to create a sound that owes as much to Detroit as it does to Khartoum. Mesmerising forward looking fusion.

Thanks for your time.

I look forward to hearing from you asap.

His general blueprint remains the same throughout all of his efforts, but the ingredients he uses may vary: from dissident chanson française, heroic jazz and 20th-century contemporary music to art-pop and DIY electronics.

Dear promoters,

Here is my very first newsletter this year.

Please find here under some artists who will be touring soon.

Feel free to get in touch with me if you want to set up a concert/performance for one of them.

TOMA GOUBAND (France)

Availabilities: 30th March – 5th April + 3rd and 5th May
Territory: Europe + UK

Toma Gouband is a percussionist whose materials include lithophones – rocks, stones, pieces of flint that are struck together to produce sound. Like Le Quan Ninh, he works from a horizontal bass drum used as resonator and table for a host of small instruments. Courants des Vents is a single improvisation, 45 minutes in length. It begins in isolated sounds, struck rocks resonating in the room. Gradually rhythmic figures appear, repeat, and mutate. Bass drum sounds occur, their echoes another measure of the space, and the work becomes increasingly complex, a dance of distances, pitches and durations. What may have initially seemed a simple set of materials assumes new dimension, perhaps in relation to the degree to which such resources might have been underestimated. Gouband emerges as cryptogeologist, an explorer of the mysteries and consciousness of the material world, opening himself and his listeners
to a universe of reverberant matter that whispers secrets of acoustics.

Listening closely to Gouband’s work, one shares in a fresh relationship (imaginative and imaginary) to the natural world. The stones are alright.
AMIRTHA KIDAMBI’s ELDER ONES (USA)

Availabilities: 15th May – 30th May, 21th June – 21st September
Territory: Belgium

Kidambi is the composer and bandleader of her quartet Elder Ones, with Matt Nelson, Max Jaffe and Nick Dunston and the leader of her vocal quartet Lines of Light, featuring Anaïs Maviel, Emilie Lesbros and Jean-Carla Rodea. Kidambi is also a regular collaborator of Lea Bertucci, in a voice and analog electronics duo, is a member of guitarist Mary Halvorson’s Code Girl, featured in various projects with composer and alto saxophonist Darius Jones, a longtime contributor of Charlie Looker’s early music inspired dark folk band Seaven Teares and a soloist in Pat Spadine’s analog percussion and light ensemble Ashcan Orchestra. She has collaborated and performed with New York luminaries in the experimental and creative music community including Tyshawn Sorey, Matana Roberts, Ingrid Laubrock, Maria Grand, Brandon Lopez, Daniel Carter, Sam Newsome, Trevor Dunn, Ava Mendoza, Matteo Liberatore and veteran improviser William Parker.
MIA ZABELKA (Austria)

Availability; To be announced
Territory: Europe + UK

Mia Zabelka is an improviser, composer as well as an experimental violinist and vocalist from Vienna, with Czech, Jewish and French familiar background. The last few years have shown Mia Zabelka to be a violinist with an enviable technique, a powerful stage presence and a vast creative imagination, and she is also emerging as one of the most important improvisers, composers and collaborators working today in Europe. In the last few years she has become known through her work with Medusa’s Bed (w. Lydia Lunch, Zahra Mani), Trio Blurb (w. Maggie Nicols and John Russell) and the One.Night.Band, as well.
HASSAN K (Iran-France)

Availability: On request
Territory: Europe + UK

DIY artist, Keyvane (his real name) mixes folklore and technologies, occident and orient, surf music and bellydance, swing and heavy metal… in crazy live acts, not too far from transe. With a guitar, a keyboard and a few sensors, he travels from the west kingdom to the Turan, spreading the words of his illuminated ancestors…
ZIG ZAGS (USA)

http://zigzags.bandcamp.com

Availability: 17th and 24th May
Territory: Belgium

A trio from Los Angeles whose sound is a purposefully scuzzy fusion of punk, metal, stoner rock, and trailer trash culture, the Zig Zags were named after a brand of cheap shoes that guitarist and singer Jed Maheu and drummer Bobby Martin were both wearing when they first talked about starting a band in 2010 (though the fact the name is also similar to a popular brand of rolling papers seems quite fitting). Maheu and Martin began working up material, with both playing guitar; by the time they started recording their first single, it became obvious this lineup wasn’t going to work for long, so Martin moved over to drums, and the band played a handful of shows as a duo. Patrick McCarthy met Maheu and Martin when he did sound for them at one of their first gigs, and he quickly became a friend and a fan; when they asked him to join the group as a bassist, he quickly said yes, even though he hadn’t played the
instrument before.
MORNE (USA)

http://morneband.bandcamp.com

Availability: 27th and 28th September 2019
Territory: Belgium

Morne, formed in 2005, is a heavy, atmospheric band based in Boston, Massachusetts. Their style blends doom metal and classic British crust but stretches beyond those boundaries, combining a bleak lyrical style with driving riffs. Three studio albums have been released to date.

Their first, Untold Wait, was on Feral Ward Records in 2009. In 2011, they signed with Profound Lore Records and released Asylum that same year, followed by Shadows, in 2013. Currently, they are working on their fourth full length album. The band has toured the US, Canada and Europe, where they have been part of large festivals such as Roadburn and Hellfest.
LAS LLONORAS (BE/ES/NL/USA)

Availability: Early February – late May 2019 + from early August 2019 onwards
Territory: Europe + UK

Sura Solomon (BE, USA) and Amber in ‘t Veld (ES, NL) have grown together into Las Lloronas (The Criers ) in the wintery streets of Brussels in December 2017. Through the experience of busking, in a few weeks they put together a set that met lots of enthusiasm. Inspired by musicians such as Lhasa de Sela, Noname, Billy Holiday, Devendra Banhart, and influenced by different world folk and bluesy songs, Las Lloronas start to compose their own tunes. Their music (accordion, guitar and voices) reflects their experiences as young women, giving birth to intimate feminist poetry. They put forth, in their melodies and performance, their vulnerable and powerful authenticity.

In May 2018, they record their first EP titled ‘take space’. While continuing to take on the empowering challenge of busking, the duo gets offers to play in many living rooms of Brussels, various venues and small festivals in Belgium and the Netherlands. In September 2018, they get the opportunity to open the stage for the well-known Argentinian band Perota Chingo, in Amsterdam and Brussels, which allows them to play at Théâtre Molière, brings them visibility and a lot of inspiration and support.

Since then, they toured in France and Spain, featured at radio shows in Brussels, and on a TV reportage of BRUZZ. They just released some studio videos to showcase their new songs with their extended band (bass, percussion and saxophone). They are currently working on new songs to record a full blown album in Fall (2019). Looking back at how this project has evolved in just a year time, they are enthusiastic and determined to let their voices be heard.
BUSINESS WITH THE CLOUD (France)

https://philippethiphaine.bandcamp.com/album/business-with-the-cloud

Availability: April, May, June
Territory: Europe + UK

Business With The Cloud brought together three musicians who were not supposed to meet at all in the first place. From their respective geographical origins to the various musical surroundings each one of them was claiming to belong to,
no one could have expected such a successful and creative encounter between the Calabrese sax and clarinet player Raul Colosimo (Il Parto delle Nuvole Pesanti, VoicevLink, Asa Nisi Masa), the French-Martiniquan drumm er Erick
Borelva (Trash Corporation) and the French guitarist Philippe Thiphaine (Heliogabale, M83, Orval Carlos Sibelius). Far from any cliché, Business With The Cloud put together pop impovisations, avant-garde songs, traditional music and experimentation, remaining ready to welcome a fourth member whenever they feel like it : Jamaladeen Tacuma, Bobby Jocky, Etienne Brunet, Thierry Negro etc No wonder Business With The Cloud was born in 1999… they decided to re-unite in 2019
MARIA CHAVEZ (USA)

Availbilities: 20th – 30th January 2019
Territory: Europe + UK

Abstract turntablist Maria Chavez makes sound art that evokes the unconscious: quicksilver changes in timbre, random beeps and burbles, words out of nowhere. ‘Chance’ is taken to a whole new level — Maria he keeps her records, her ‘vocabulary’, in one massive, sleeveless pile where they can rub against each other an create new, organic scratches.

She also ‘sacrifices’ those records that no longer serve her purpose, transforming them into unintentional samples to be layered one on top of the other. Maria came to the New Sounds studio to explain how, exactly, all this works.
