PAUL ASHLEY
Ashley Paul is an American performer and composer based in London. She
uses an array of instruments including saxophone, clarinet, voice,
guitar, bells and percussion, mixing disparate elements to create a
colorful palate of sound that works its way into her intuitive songs;
free forming, introverted melodies. This blend manifests beautiful and
simple musical forms against acoustic experimentation.
Ashley has performed or recorded with Phill Niblock, Rashad Becker, Nik
Colk Void, Loren Connors, Heatsick, Aki Onda, C. Spencer Yeh, Anthony
Coleman, Bass Clef, Joe Maneri, Joe Morris, Seijiro Murayama, Greg
Kelley, Bill Nace and Eli Keszler appearing on such labels as Important,

NEW CANDYS
New Candys’ chemical recipe verge more on a psychedelic drift, like
their beautiful LP ‘Stars Reach The Abyss’ showed a couple of years ago.
Hypnotic and sedated with ‘Dark Love’, faster and acid pop garage with
‘Surf 2′. The quartet know how to write a song and keep the good vibe
on, wisely dosing vintage and ideas.”
Their song ‘Meltdown Corp.’ it’s an absolutely jaw dropping track. In
fact, I had not heard of them until this, and I was online ordering
their album before the song was even over. And then I played the song
again. And again.”

KING CHAMPION SOUNDS
What if The Fall had garnished their rockabilly grooves with swing-era
horns?
What is Can played Ghanaian highlife?
What if Morricone had scored spaghetti westerns in a Moroccan souk?
King Champion Sounds, a Dutch band fronted by Ajay Saggar and G.W.Sok,
recombine canonical influences in new contexts. Listen to « Orbit Macht
Frei » where the relentless forward krautrock pulse throbs in a dubwise
echo chamber, while Sok’s word torrent ratchets the tension.

SLEEP BEGGAR
Sleep Beggar are the forerunners of experimental UK beats and noise.
Although in it’s infancy,
Sleep Beggar has made waves in the UK Underground movement with it’s
distinctive mix of
hardcore/eletronics and experimental hip-hop. Coming out of the empty,
desolate port town of
Holyhead in North Wales, Sleep Beggar is about to embark on their first
USA tour (April 2015)
with american rap artist JEdoubleF (American Scream Records). Their
latest releases ‘Fertile
Ground’ and ‘Paean/Monody’ have been well received by BBC Radio 1 Wales
and European
underground music press as being the forerunners of a new wave of UK
hardcore/electronics
crossover. Notable for their stripped down videos and stark visual
imagery and known for their
exciting performances, their latest release ‘Me Leaving Me’ has seen
Sleep Beggar solidify their
distinctive and exciting sound in experimental hip-hop hardcore music.
Sleep Beggar have recently
finished UK and European tour dates with acts as diverse as Death of
Youth (GER), Child Care
(UK) and Comadome (USA)

ARRINGTON DE DIONYSO
Arrington de Dionyso (b. January 4th 1975) makes trans-utopian world
music for a world that exists in fever dreams and hallucinations. Using
performance and visual art, he traverses the nameless territories held
between surrealist automatism, shamanic seance, and the folk imagery of
rock and roll. He clarified his eccentric brew of ecstatic lunacy and
prophetic madness during his 15 year tour-of-duty with Olympia’s Old
Time Relijun (1995-2009).
De Dionyso’s most recent project, Malaikat dan Singa, is a trance-punk
outfit featuring bass clarinet, guitars, multiple drummers and his
trademark wild vocals (multi-spectral harmonic throatsinging combined
with grunts, yelps, and barks) often sung in Indonesian. Malaikat dan
Singa translates as “Angels and Lions,” and de Dionyso’s lyrics (both
Indonesian and any other language he chooses to ply) fiercely combine
mythology and fantasy. As a band Malaikat dan Singa ultimately defies a
clean translation gaining power by crossing boundaries — both linguistic
and psychic.
Arrington tours constantly both with Malaikat dan Singa and as a
versatile solo artist. His visual art has been featured in exhibitions
in Italy, New York City, Washington DC and Portland, Oregon and
published in Yeti magazine, Prism Index and The Stranger. Arrington has
staged his 24-Hour Drawing Performance at a variety of gallery spaces
and other unusual spaces throughout the globe, in which he combines
musical performance and video screenings with a live drawing marathon.

GODFLESH
Godflesh are a British industrial metal band from Birmingham, England.
They were formed in 1988 by Justin Broadrick (guitar, vocals and
programming) and G.C. Green (bass) and disbanded in 2002. Godflesh’s
innovative music is widely regarded as a foundational influence on
industrial metal and post-metal.[1] Broadrick and Green reformed
Godflesh in 2010.

PERCEVALMUSIC
Side project of Tony Chauvin, guitar player of Chevreuil (the cult
guitar / drums duo that has initiated playing in the audience and
music spatialization via guitar quadraphony since 1998), with the
presence of Ti Yann Février, a saxophone player and drummer.
After two albums, _‘Vie scolaire’_ in 2005 and ‘Dormir
Sommeil’ in 2007, followed by _‘Axes’_ in 2009, a
show/installation in association with Laurent Chomette, also the
compositions of the music for ‘Comme en plein jour’(2008)
and _‘Qu’après en être revenue’_ (2010), two contemporary
choregraphies by Jean-Baptiste André, here’s in 2013_ ‘Recueil
du Mal’_, the new Percevalmusic album.
There, the composition method is still based on this quadraphonic
guitar surrounding the drums with the same eloquent depth and
intricate windings.
It carries the spectator into a music performance in-between acoustic
and electric, carefulness and brutality, stability and chaos.
Like some kind of anti-aristocratic, architectural and organic chamber
music, that, by mixing the power of rock and the precision of
classical tradition, would evoke a contemporary prog-rock band of the
70’s.

DENNIS YOUNG + RAY BALLY
Dennis Young was a member of the seminal minimalist-funk band Liquid
Liquid. Their club smash “Cavern,” propelled by Young’s percussion,
became the basis of Grandmaster Flash’s rap classic “White Lines (Don’t
Do It).”
Vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist, Ray Bally, trained with the
legendary jazz guitarist Bern Nix. Bally has also composed noted scores
for independent films.
Dennis Young and Ray Bally: Volume 1 is Denis and Ray’s new live in the
studio, no editing, no dubs, all improvisation—collaboration. So forget
about conventional song structures, what this album smacks of is
freedom, experimentation and a freshness that is sadly lacking in much
of today’s music.
Denis and Ray use plenty of effects and technique to display
‘progressive’ overtones all over the place. Producing just the right
combo of etherealness, excellent musicianship, and rocking out, to evade
the ‘totally weird’ tag. Seven boundless tracks pervade the album:
“Metallic Young”, “Planet of Vampires”, “Restless Hymn”, “SQ”, “Comrades
March”, “Church Bells” and “Endless You”.

HEY COLOSSUS
Emerging in a haze of demented riff science and booze-addled abandon,
Hey Colossus have carved out a notable niche for themselves in the
British underground’s murkier quarters. They’ve dished out a
formidable array of wax over the last decade, specialising in a
primordial barrage of abject noise from overheated ampstacks. Yet for
all the grit and gnarl of their output thus far, it’s seemingly only
been a warm-up for their latest opus, which sees their monstrous
assault finely honed into an album as beguiling as it is bulldozing.
‘In Black And Gold’, their eighth album proper and first for
Rocket Recordings, ushers in a new incarnation of Hey Colossus.
Marrying malevolent attack to expansive celestial splendour, ‘In
Black And Gold’ marks a point whereby Hey Colossus map out a sonic
trajectory that expands on their trademark ornery overload. The songs
herein may be leaner and more artful than the fearsome sound by which
they made their name on albums like 2008’s ‘Project: Death’ and
the monstrous 2013 opus ‘Cuckoo Live Life Like Cuckoo’, but they…

TEETH OF THE SEA
Teeth of the Sea are a band hard to categorise, their music is like a soundtrack of a film you have to see. Their mix of kraut rock, techno, psych, disco and noise can be heard best on their recently released and critically acclaimed third album MASTER. The band’s love of soundtracks has also influenced them ‘re-imagining’ soundtracks live to films such as A Field in England, 2001, Flash Gordon and Neil Marshal’s Doomsday.

BOUBACAR SISSOKHO
Dakarois d’origine, BOUBACAR CISSOKHO, jeune cousin virtuose du
maître malien de la kora BALLAKÉ SISSOKO, a passé 7 ans à Bamako
pour apprendre et transmettre l’art de cet instrument, qualifié
d’harpe d’Afrique de l’Ouest et dont il deviendra très certainement
l’un des éminents représentants. Il prend part au nouvel album à
paraître de STRANDED HORSE, en plus de partager l’affiche avec lui
en duo, et bientôt en quintet. Étant de passage parmi nous pour

FUKAJO + PRAIRIE
The international duo of Fujako returns to Angstrom Records with Soul
Buzz, a short but intense six-track salvo of earth shaking, gritty
electronic music featuring DC’s Black Saturn.
Uniting over a love of echo, bass and space, Jonathan Uliel Saldanha,
from Portugal, and Nicolas Esterle, from Belgium via France, came
together to form Fujako with a desire to make music of “unlooped hip
hop and telluric dub from the geological strata.” Exiling themselves
to a remote mountainous area of central Portugal, Fujako re-emerged in
2008 with a debut album Landform (Wordsound Digital, Ångström
Records) that crystallised their intent with a righteous sound and
fury.
Electronic music production, instrumental layers and powerful drone
energy. In February 2015 PRAIRIE follows up with a first full length
album on Berlin ́s Shitkatapult label.”Like a pack of Hounds”
contains 9 tracks full of fragile beauty, dangerous sounds and
guitars. This music cre- ates a kind of landsoundscapestyle art that
really hits and hurts. Tracks like “Elle See” or “Closed for
Thirty Midnights” feature crystal vocal performances, one disturbing
song sung by french performer LUCILLE CALMEL (“Elle…”) and one
very heart touching (“Thirty…”) song, performed by MARC JACOBS
himself.

ALASH ENSEMBLE
The three musicians who make up Alash – Bady-Dorzhu Ondar, Ayan-ool Sam and Ayan Shirizhik – have won numerous international awards in Tuvan throat singing, a technique which allows vocalists to sing multiple pitches at one time. Ensemble members also play a variety of Tuvan traditional instruments, contributing to an overall musical experience that a Washington Post review described as “absolutely stunning.”
Alash has also collaborated with such diverse musical groups as Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, beat boxer Shodekeh and American classical musicians. With their « new old » Tuvan music, Alash stays true to the cultural traditions of their musical heritage, while blending new influences, to create a captivating and utterly unique musical experience.

SOLYST
After over 16 years as Kreidler drummer and a number of other guest appearances, Thomas Klein now presents his second solo album under the name SØLYST. « Lead » is a hypnotic journey into the heart of darkness. Foreboding synth patterns, menacing bass lines, driving drum figures, cavernous percussion effects: SØLYST delves into new depths with his « Tribal Kraut Dub ».

YANN GOURDON
As musician and composer, Yann Gourdon looks at vibratory fields and sound perception as a medium. He predominantly focuses on acoustic phenomena that have a dynamic relationship with their environment – architecture / landscape.
He has also learned to play the traditional music from Massif Central (the mountains of the central region of France) with hurdy-gurdy by listening to field recordings (collect) and is currently researching this repertoire within the collective La Nòvia.
Throughout every aspect of his work he only deals with sound quality.

JASON VAN GULICK
Jason Van Gulick is one of the most inventive drummers on the contemporary music scene, he processes the sounds of his drum set in real time providing an explosive mixture of wild rhythms and abstract soundscapes. He has performed with Carla Bozulich / Evangelista, Stephen O’Malley (Sunn O)))), Chris Corsano, N.U. Unruh (Einstürzende Neubauten), Y.E.R.M.O. and the wild interdisciplinary Collective, DEGA!
This formula created for a series of concerts in smaller and more intimate venues, it based on the use of micro sensor of percussion elements and focused on the resonance of certain percussion instruments and their styles of interpretation (bell gong, violin bow on cymbals, cymbals scraped across drum skins).
The musician’s stage presence and gestures are essential, immersing the audience in a visual and acoustic universe that borders on the ritual.
This formula is ideally suited to venues with limitations of space and volume. It is also highly effective in venues with acoustic character such as churches.

ANDY STOTT
Andy Stott is a Manchester-based producer of dub and techno music[1] who has released four albums with the Modern Love label.[2][3] His debut album was Merciless[4] in 2006, and was followed by Unknown Exception
(2008) and Luxury Problems in 2012.[5][6] In November 2014, Stott released « Faith in Strangers » and also incorporated vocals from his former piano teacher, Alison Skidmore.[7] Stott has undertaken several productions under the moniker Andrea and these works were released on Daphne, a sublabel of Modern Love.[8] Most of this work is in association with MLZ / Pendle Coven’s Miles Whittaker who used the moniker Millie in the recordings[9] and were released as Millie & Andrea.[3] In 2012, Stott collaborated with the Brooklyn duo The Hundred in the Hands remixing Keep It Low [10][11] from their 2012 album, Red Night.[12]

THE THIRD SOUND
The Third Sound began as a solo project from Hákon Aðalsteinsson, formerly of Icelandic band Singapore Sling. The self titled debut album of dark, fuzzed up psych tinted tracks held together by Hákon’s deep vocals was recorded in Rome.
Hákon soon relocated to Berlin where The Third Sound evolved into a full
5 piece band and began performing live (Hákon Aðalsteinsson, Robin Hughes, Antonio D’Orazio, Gerald Pasqualin & Ambroise Prieur).
The Third Sound debut album was released on ‘a’ Recordings ltd., the label of Brian Jonestown Massacre’s Anton Newcombe, who invited the band to open for BJM on their 2012 European tour.
During a two week session in spring 2012 the band went into the studio to record The Third Sound of Destruction and Creation (released on July 26th 2013 by Fuzz Club Records), a more band focused effort that ranges from hypnotic soundscape ballads to tweaked out high speed fuzz, layering both serene and abrasive guitars over husky vocals and locked in rhythms.

IN ZAIRE
At first it may seem like a sonic foray into well known territory: a guitar, drums and bass driven ride into psychedelic landscapes – colorful and mind-expanding. And if you’re looking for some lysergic adventures this is your ticket! But even though “White Sun Black Sun” is obviously and deeply rooted in the ongoing history of electrified rock-n-roll-to-blow-your-head-off (i.e. from Ash Ra Temple and Hawkwind to Up-Tight) In Zaire reach way beyond this admirable approach and successfully aim for more. The music’s taking cues from electric Blues, the aforementioned LSD-drenched Psychedelia, high-octane Japrock and edgy Post-Punk – there’s even some Funk thrown in for good measurement. So, turn it on and tune in and find yourself immersed in a universe of sound that consists of bizarre tones and beautiful noises circling around like planets – each one unique, different and magnificent.
