LARSEN
After two albums deeply marked by the smoky voice of singer Little
Annie, Of Grog Vim is the first fully instrumental album to be
released by the band since they started 20 years ago and features
special guest multi-instrumentalist Thor Harris (Swans) on trombone
on two pieces.
Indeed there is, among these eight fully instrumental pieces, a
rational aplomb that rearranges, combines and exalts the almost
(chamber?) orchestra approach underlying so much music of the last
decade (by generalization: minimalism/maximalism, post rock, raga
oriented drones, heavy rock). Here the aim is that of a sound beyond
the scenic effect and the instruments punching the listeners in the
face, to which Larsen prefer a rare solidity, infused with a twisted
stillness and ecstasy. Somehow common territories for the band, but
more passionate and straight to the point than ever.
TISIPHONE
Tisiphone is a french band of cold-rock-tribal-mystic.
Multi-instruments players combined into one organ, TISIPHONE is a
chimera producing a luminous yet confused sound. With its mix of
tribal rhythms, cold guitars, bass no wave, and a soaring, screaming
and singing voice, TISIPHONE defies all genres and plunges us into a
mesmerizing dimension.
During two years, they have played a lot in France – with Jeanne
Added, Algiers, Motorama, Frustration, Qujaku and many others , and
Europe – Berlin, Portugal, Swiss
Our first album (L.P.) has been released at the beginning of the
year 2016 by Automate Records.
JUDY DUNAWAY
Judy Dunaway is an avant-garde composer, free improvisor, conceptual
sound artist, transmission artist and creator of sound installations
who is primarily known for her sound works for latex balloons. Since
1990 she has created over forty works for balloons as sound conduits
and has also made this her main instrument for improvisation.
CHARLEMAGNE PALESTINE & GRUMBLING FUR TIME MACHINE ORCHESTRA
Charlemagne Palestine, the shamanic world-maker and sacred toy
emissary associated with the New York 60’s minimalist scene joins
Grumbling Fur Time Machine Orchestra, or the extended drone arm of
London based multi-disciplinary artists Daniel O’Sullivan and
Alexander Tucker’s experimental avant-pop conception.
The signature strumming of Palestine’s piano augmented by Tucker and
O’Sullivan’s earthware electronics and processed strings create
seamless sonic ripples in a constant state of unfolding. This is
perhaps the most demonstrative document of Palestine’s powerful
vocal delivery – an alien hybrid of sacred music drawing deep from
the well of the cantorial synagogue and Hindustani classical styles
in a bid to channel inter-dimensional beings from ancient cultures.
In some respects this could be thought of as Charlemagne in dub as
Grumbling Fur carefully twist and mangle their palette of
electrified harp, viola, bowed mandolin, percussion, tapes and voice
transformers through chains of loopers resulting in a slowly
dilating vapour.
Thank you for reading.
All the best.
Alain

UN PER VOX
Un Per Vow (one per voice) is a trio specialized in Pyrenean polyphonic singing.
Their work is focused on the Pyrenean know-how (Bigorre area) and how it can be used in a contemporary way.
Their repertoire is therefore made up of traditional songs, often arranged with modern colors, and creation pieces.
It is lightweight formula, where each voice can be heard in its intimacy.
The concerts of Un per Vox are rare moments of both power and sensitivity.
ZONAL
The Bug & JK Flesh together were Techno-animal, that was the past, now they are Zonal, this is the future!
THE YOUNG MOTHERS
The Young Mothers second release ‘Mother Dearest’ (a loving protest album) is recorded and produced at the legendary Sugar Hill Recording Studios in Houston Texas (Lightnin’ Hopkins, Beyoncé). A Hip Hop, Punk, and Afrobeat influenced Free Jazz album by a band that’s fully aware of the musically and politically necessities of these times; the album is collaboratively composed and pulling all of the bands influences together. This is what Jazz means to me in this time and age. » – Ingebrigt Håker Flaten
HEY COLOSSUS
Emerging in a haze of demented riff science and booze-addled abandon,Hey Colossus have carved out a notable niche for themselves in the British underground’s murkier quarters. They’ve dished out a formidable array of wax over the last decade, specialising in a primordial barrage of abject noise from overheated ampstacks. Yet for all the grit and gnarl of their output thus far, it’s seemingly only been a warm-up for their latest opus, which sees their monstrous assault finely honed into an album as beguiling as it is bulldozing. ‘In Black And Gold’, their eighth album proper and first for Rocket Recordings, ushers in a new incarnation of Hey Colossus. Marrying malevolent attack to expansive celestial splendour, ‘In Black And Gold’ marks a point whereby Hey Colossus map out a sonic trajectory that expands on their trademark ornery overload. The songs herein may be leaner and more artful than the fearsome sound by which they made their name on albums like 2008’s ‘Project: Death’ and the monstrous 2013 opus ‘Cuckoo Live Life Like Cuckoo’
FRANCISCO LOPEZ
Francisco López is internationally recognized as one of the main figures on the stage of sound art and experimental music. His experience in the field of sound creation and work with environmental recordings covers a period of more than thirty five years, during which he has developed an impressive sound universe that is completely personal and iconoclastic and based on profound listening to the world.
Francisco López’s sound performances are something beyond a “normal” musiconcert. An intense and rich sonic immersive experience in the dark, with a surround multi-channel sound system and blindfolds provided for the audience. Virtual worlds of sound created out of a myriad of original sources collected all over the world -from rainforests and deserts to factories and buildings from multiple locations in the six continents- and mutated and evolved during years of studio work through the master compositional skills of López’s universe.” The space is reconfigured with a multi-channel surround system around the audience, which is placed in seats arranged in concentric circles facing the outside array of speakers. The performer operates from the center of the space (not on stage), in order to be able to control live the sound as is heard by the audien
JERUSALEM IN MY HEART
Jerusalem In My Heart (JIMH) has been a live audio-visual happening since 2005, with Montréal-based producer and musician Radwan Ghazi Moumneh at its core. Moumneh is a Lebanese national who has spent a large part of his adult life in Canada and has been a fixture of the Montréal independent music community from his early days as guitarist in various notable 90s bands to his tireless activity as a sound engineer and producer over the last decade. Moumneh is also active in the Beirut and Lebanese experimental music scenes, where he spends a few months every year.
OISEAUX-TEMPÊTE
It’s not often that one gets to experience such rich, improvised textures born out of somber contemplation and masterful manipulation of a wide range of musical instruments. Besides electric bass and guitar, drum machine and analog synths, depending on each piece, the band and collaborators used an electric buzuk, hurdy gurdy, bandir, flute, dukar, piano, saxophone even a mellotron which makes the listening truly one of a kind. A total of 12 compositions, that are some recorded in Paris, other in Beirut; a fact that transpires the idea of a borderless world
FLOWDAN
East London’s Flowdan whose MC career spans the entire timeline of grime, was a founding member of Roll Deep and most famously laid down the iconic flow on ‘Skeng’ – the genre-defining dubstep era track by The Bug, released by Hyperdub in 2007. That was followed by numerous vocal features for The Bug, DVA, and Jubei on Ninjatune, Keysound, and Metalheadz and an LP on Eskibeats before his 2014 breakout ‘Serious Business’ EP on Hyperdub. Flowdan’s latest LP ‘Disaster Piece’, out July 2016 on Tru Thoughts, features heavy production from Cato, Masro, Swifta Beater, Dexplicit and vocal collabs with Tinchy Snyder, Manga, and Animai – it is inspired by the tower blocks of his youth and has been lauded with top reviews by MTV, NME, RA, Mixmag, The Quietus, and CLASH Mag, marking it as a pivotal crossover statement from this unmistakable voice.
HASSAN K
Hassan K is a mystical one man band from Persia. DIY artist, Keyvane (his real name) mixes folklore and technologies, occident and orient, surf music and bellydance, swing and heavy metal… in crazy live acts, not too far from transe. With an electric setar, a keyboard and a few sensors, he travels from the west kingdom to the Turan, spreading the words of his illuminated ancestors…
