Booking Offers

Booking offers (2021 #26)Dear all,Please find here under some musicians and bands who ara available for live concerts / performances.I am booking dates for them.Feel free to get back to me if you want to set a concert/performance for one of them.
SPILL (Germany/Australia)https://spillberlin.bandcamp.com/album/stockholm-syndromeAvailability: December 2021
Territories: Europe + UKSpill is the Berlin-based duo of Magda Mayas on piano and clavinet and
Tony Buck on drums/percussion, formed in 2003. They have, to date
released 3 albums as the duo, and have collaborated with John Butcher on
the UnSounds label release Plume as well as with American bassist Damon
Smith on the CD Spill Plus (on the Nuscope label).
Tony and Magda have been playing all over Europe, the USA, Australia and
Lebanon and, for a three month period in the summer 2016, were together
on a artist residence program at Villa Aurora in Los Angeles.
November 2017 sees Tony join Magda for a 10 day period during her
residency at Montalvo Arts Center in California, where they have worked
on new SPILL recordings.GABBI FLUKE-MOGUL (USA)https://flukemogul.bandcamp.com/album/threadAvailability: On request
Territory: Europe + UKNew York violinist gabby fluke-mogul is unabashedly experimental on this
solo album recorded last summer. Employing extended techniques (rubbing,
scraping, sawing, tapping), they extract a full spectrum of
unconventional sounds from this conventional instrument. Coupled with
occasional vocals, threshold is an exhilarating ride.
fluke-mogul plucks and bows through six improvisations from 4 to 11
minutes in length. Their ability to load a track with notes – both
straight and twisted – is exhibited in the opener, teeth, which features
what could best be described as manually-played « violin effects »
interspersed with rapid runs, short motifs, and chants. They do not
eschew subtlety but instead use quieter, breathier portions of each
track to serve as a counterbalance to the outside sections.MOPCUThttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eV1hm8q3EyIAvailability; 2nd September [Benelux] + 6th-10th October [Europe + UK] +
16th-21st Novemnber [Europe + UK]MOPCUT is a medium-length noise-style that covers the head and ears with
a vertical bang and a horizontal wave. It’s a popular style for all
ages, genders and generations. The soundscape should be trimmed evenly
all around the circumference so that the noise at the front reaches the
inner eye while the waves on the sides cover (or almost fully cover) the
ears. The beats at the back maintain the same length as the samples at
the front and sides. Once the overall sound is achieved, trimming is
used to achieve minimalism or maximalism, depending. Improvisation,
noise and electronic beats work well as backgrounds for the MOPCUT.
Electronic appliances and devices may be used to give the MOPCUT a bit
more volume, but effects may lead to standing up instead of hanging low.BLACK SPACE QUARTET [UK]https://www.facebook.com/rogerrobinsonmusic/videos/796473000992910Availability: From January 2022 onwards
Territory: EuropePreeminent poet, writer, musician and vocalist Roger Robinson and his
new band, The Black Space Quartet, deliver a knockout bout of heartical
dub poetry and sultry R&B in a very special addition to our Documenting
Sound series.

Highly regarded as the voice of King Midas Sound, and responsible for
its frankly devastating lyrics, Roger Robinson is also a winner of the
prestigious Ondaatje and T.S. Eliot Prizes – only the second writer of
Caribbean heritage to ever win the latter. His poetry has also been
commissioned by the National Portrait Gallery, the Tate and The Barbican
among countless other.
Thanks for reading.
I look forward to hearing from you asap. All the best.Alain

Booking offers (2021 #25)Dear all,Please find here under some musicians who are avaimlable for live concerts and or performances.I book some dates for them.Feel free to get in touch with me if you want to set up a concert or performance.
ANDREW WEATHERS (USA)https://andrewweathers.bandcamp.com/Availability: 2022
Territories: Europe + UKAndrew Weathers (b.1988) is a composer and improviser originally from
Chapel Hill, NC and currently based in Littlefield, TX. His work engages
with notions of place, tradition, repetition, and spirit. Weathers
studied composition at UNC-Greensboro and electronic music at Mills
College in Oakland, CA.
A consistent presence in the underground music scene over the past
decade, Weathers’ work covers a wide spectrum from solo acoustic guitar
to electronic noise. He also performs and records regularly with
Tethers, Real Life Rock & Roll Band, Tender Crust, Wind Tide, Satin
Spar, Llano Estacado Monad Band and in long-running collaborations with
Seth Chrisman and tanner menard, among others. In addition to his busy
performing schedule, Weathers operates the Full Spectrum and Other Minds
record labels, curates the Longitudes music series at CO-OPt Research +
Projects in Lubbock, TX and works as a freelance mixing and mastering
engineer.SIMONA ZAMBOLI (Italy)https://simonazamboli.bandcamp.com/Availability: On request
Territories: Europe + UKEternity in the ether? On her label debut with Mille Plateaux, Milanese
producer Simona Zamboli sounds as enigmatic as the title of her album.
Remnants of techno tracks can be found in her analog-digital hybrids at
best as rhythmic patterns that rarely need a beat, yet decidedly rely on
repetition. The club is merely a memory from the pre-pandemic world in
this narrative touted as « ultra-black, » but arguably incompatible with
the reality of Ethernity. Zamboli, who has sometimes indulged her
penchant for rumbling bludgeoning techno in other releases, such as
Insane Industry, succeeds here in a seemingly paradoxical coexistence of
amorphous and textural, a kind of abstract downtempo, if you will, in
which atonal frequencies peacefully coexist alongside harmonic figures,
brittle-repellent and strangely homey-warm at the same time. For all its
detail, the music never seems self-indulgent, but definitely like an end
in itself, a resounding, strange attractor.DALIBOR CRUZ (USA)https://naturalsciences.bandcamp.com/album/riddled-with-absenceAvailability: From January 2022 onward
Territories: Europe + UKHailing from Chicago and acutely cognizant of his Honduran roots,
Dalibor Cruz has been finessing a blend of raw, grimy electronics and
restless polyrhythms via his Blood Line Recordings over the past 12
months. He now serves his first international release via Manchester’s
ace, explorative label Natural Sciences, playing hard into their roving
punkish tastes with eight tracks that land squarely between Muslim gauze
and Kelman Duran’s noisy, freehanded sampled elia, and the DJ-ready swag
of Low Jack, but with a deep rudeness of his own.
Thanks for reading.I look forward to hearing from you soon. All the best.Alain
