Dear all,

Please find here under some bands and musicians who are available for live concerts/performances in the coming months.

I am booking dates for them.

Please feel free to get back to me if you want to set up a concert/performance for one of them.

CATHERINE LAMB (USA)
https://soundcloud.com/catherine-lamb
Availability: On request
Territories: Europe + UK
Catherine Lamb’s Prisma Interius series consists of 9 works for solo instrument to chamber orchestra. Each composition is based upon the harmonic foundation laid out by the Secondary Rainbow Synthesizer, a custom subtractive synthesis instrument that uses live sound from outside of the performance space as a material to filter to specific harmonic zones.  In Prisma IV, Lamb works with close collaborators Rebecca Lane (quarter-tone bass flute, voice) and Bryan Eubanks (synthesizer, voice) and the 3 have been developing this work together in practice and performance since 2017.  Prisma IV is both a work in progress and a finished work in the sense that it continues to grow with the performers and always retains site-specificity for each performance.  The piece has recently been performed and recorded for remote versions of Phill Niblock’s Experimental Intermedia Festival and Q02’s 2021 Oscillations festival.

HICKIES (Spain)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7NW8Xk93Wg
Availability; Tbc
Territories: Europe + UK
Hickeys is a four-piece based in Madrid. Marta Kunitsa (guitar), Martina G. Compairé (bass), Ana Erice (guitar) and Maite Barrena (drums) met at college and ever since they have played many gigs in Spain and have travelled through countries and festivals such as Portugal, the Netherlands (ESNS), Germany, the UK and the US (the New Colossus and SXSW). « Alegría Di Vision » shows the progress they’ve been through, both as individuals and as a band, getting darker, forceful and refined, delving into their potential and giving us a hint of what their debut album will be like. Their latest release, MOTHERLODE, is born of the generational frustration and uncertainty caused by the premise that what was promised, is not real. Disillusionment, anger and frustration is what is heard and felt in this single.

DINO SALUZZI (Argentina)
https://soundcloud.com/dino-saluzzi
Availability: 20th October – 5th November
Territory: Europe + UK
In partnership with: www.arcoyflecha.com
The celebrated work of Argentine composer and bandoneon master Dino Saluzzi resides at the intersection of tango, improvisation, folk music, jazz, and modern classical composition. Early albums such as 1978’s Dedicatoria and 1980’s Bermejo showcased an already unique fusion of electric Latin jazz and tango that took him to the festival stages of Europe. Saluzzi’s ECM discography began with the completely solo Kultrum in 1983; a spontaneous example of the bandoneonist’s storytelling art, it marked the first of many musical « imaginary returns » to the towns and villages of his childhood. He has also recorded meetings with jazz musicians, including 1985’s Once Upon a Time: Far Away in the South with Charlie Haden. In 1991, he issued Mojotoro with the Dino Saluzzi Group; its roster included his brothers Celso and Felix and son Jose Maria. In 2002 he issued the duo outing Senderos with drummer Jon Christensen. In 2011, he worked he with brother Felix and cellist Anja Lechner on the acclaimed Navidad de Los Andes and returned to solo recording for 2020’s Albores.

DUMA (Kenya)
https://nyegenyegetapes.bandcamp.com/album/duma
Availability: 20th-21st August 2021 + from 21st September onwards
Territory: Belgium
Martin Khanja (aka Lord Spike Heart) and Sam Karugu emerge from Nairobi’s flourishing underground metal scene as former members of the bands Lust of a Dying Breed and Seeds of Datura. Together in 2019 they formed Duma (Darkness in kikuyu) with Sam abandoning bass for production and guitars and Lord Spike Heart providing extreme vocals to the project.
Their unique sound fuses the frenetic euphoria, unrelenting physicality and rebellious attitude of hardcore punk and trash metal with bone-crunching breakcore and raw, nihilist industrial noise through a claustrophobic vortex of visceral screams.
Duma are a sinister force facing pain and difficult emotions head on is the place from which Khanja writes. A sonic aggression of feral intensity with disregard for styles, the duo promises to impact the hungry East African metal scene moving it into totally new, boundary-challenging experimental territories. Their self-titled debut album is due in August 2020 on Hakuna Kulala.

TRIGGER CUT (Germany)
https://triggercut1.bandcamp.com/releases
Availabilities: 4th February – 22nd February 2022 + 25th February – 5th  March 2020
Territories: The Netherlands, France, Belgium
Trigger Cut is a three piece noise rock/ punk group from Germany who have been playing shows for almost five years now and they released their debut album BUSTER in 2019. They come in with a pretty classic but also exceedingly more energetic sound for a band from the noise genre, they bring some serious heat to their songs and I can imagine a few good mosh pits happening when they kick off a show. Noise rock can always either drone on and be kind of boring (except for Swans, they’ll always be the kings) or it can be absolutely chaotic and take its destructive nature and soundscape to the threshold. Bands like Boris and Lightning Bolt come to mind when I think of truly abrasive noise bands.

I hope to hear from you soon.

All the best.

https://soundcloud.com/eubanks

Bryan Eubanks (b. 1977, US) develops his music through solo work and collaboration. Since 1999 he has participated in many short and long term projects, and regularly presents his work internationally. Continually active in a variety of contexts: improvisation; composing electronic and acoustic works for small ensembles, solo instruments, computers, and electronics; organizing and curating concerts for other artists; building electronic instruments. He currently lives in Berlin.

FLEUR DE FEU (Belgium)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bMWf-qLH5o
Availability : Fall 2021 – Winter 2022
Territories: Europe
Fleur de Feu offers a music performance and a fire ceremony in remembrance of the loved ones we lost in the course of the confinements of 2020 and 2021, whose funeral we were not allowed to attend due to safety measures.
The music is a soothing mix of guitar loops and shamanic-type rhythms on which are layered soft female vocals and spoken word, accompanied by haunting violin melodies and female backing vocals. The shamanic rhythms bring the audience into a dream-like state which enables to leave linear time in favour of sacred, non-linear time.
Fleur de Feu’s performance was designed by Baby Fire founding member Dominique Van Cappellen-Waldock. She is accompanied by violinist and vocalist Cécile Gonay, also from Baby Fire.
Penny Rimbaud (Crass…) made a brief contribution to the album.
Producer Déhà (Wolvennest…) – who also designed the percussions – will join the duo as a special guest on guitar for the shows in Belgium only.

MelmAcHello (France)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Mx-hYhangw
Availability: 1st-7th November + 24th April-9th May 2022
Territories: Europe + UK
A.C. HELLO has been practicing sound poetry for more than ten years, alone or accompanied by musicians. What is at stake in her performed readings is a struggle between what is literary (the written text, worked to provide the reader with a textual & definitive object), and what could be called a suffocated speech. A struggle without victory or failure at the end, which is the very fact of living, and whose body is the space.
MELMAC is an instrumental band in perpetual mutation for almost 20 years. Its music accompanies the listener on a tormented and chimerical journey to the borders of instrumental rock, free jazz and
minimalist sound experiments.

THE UNDERFLOW (USA)
https://theunderflow.bandcamp.com/album/instant-opaque-evening
Availability: To be announced
Territories: Europe + UK
An epic second installment from the trio of Mats Gustafsson, David Grubbs, Rob Mazurek, nearly 90 minutes of intense live performances from January 2020. They converge here on a wide swath of sounds: expansive free improvs, full-tilt electronics, alt-universe chamber music and spontaneous arrangements of three previously released Grubbs’ songs.

I hope to hear from you soon.

All the best.

Dear all,

Please find here under some bands and musicians who are available for live performances/concerts in late 2021 and 2022.

I am booking some dates for them.

Feel free to contact me if you feel like setting up a concert/performance for one of them.

CRISP PACKET JACKETS (UK)
https://weirdgarden.bandcamp.com/album/fly-tipping-point
Availlability: After Summer 2021 + 2022
Territories: Europe
Utilising redundant and obsolete technology, CPJ create an authentic sound, full of all the errors and intrusions associated with hardware, compared to the idealised perfection of totally software based recording.
The CPJ oppose the notion of change for profit’s sake only, rather than offering any progressive benefits in the modernist sense, update now is much more about establishing greater power, control and profit, over any commercial environment.
The glitches and interference is real, things really do break down and degrade in reality and this is what you will hear!
Techniques derived from operating chainsaws and heavy agricultural machinery, skills fast disappearing from society, as data management takes precedence over all other vocations!

NADJA (Canada)
https://nadja.bandcamp.com/
Availability: September-November 2021
Territories: Europe + UK
Nadja is a duo of multi-instrumentalist Aidan Baker and bassist Leah Buckareff—active since 2005—and making music which can be described as ambient doom, dreamsludge, or metalgaze. Nadja’s signature sound combines the atmospheric textures of shoegaze and ambient/electronic music with the heaviness, density, and volume of metal, noise, and industrial.
For the new album, Luminous Rot, the duo retain their signature overblown/ambient sound, and explore shorter and more tightly structured songs reflecting their interests not only in metal, but post-punk, cold-wave, shoegaze, and industrial.

HASSAN K (France/Iran)
https://hassank.bandcamp.com/
Availability: After Summer 2021 + 2022
Territories: Europe + UK
Straying away from a folklore dominated by the binary kicks of contemporary Oriental electro, Keyvane Alinaghi becomes Hassan K. and transcends the fluctuant borders of Persian music.
As much a fiddler as an adamant defender of a free and open-source culture, polymath DIY artist… For more than 10 years, this solo artist has been boundlessly blending Persian rituals with new technologies, the West with the East, surf music with belly dancing, swing with cyber-metal, film scores with harsh noise…The multi-instrumentalist musician is a traditionalist who does not play around with folklore, but rather searches for the essence of a millennial culture, in order to offer it a second breath without ever deteriorating it.
Composed without any sample, note by note, click by click, just as would a Benedictine monk (Ishraq?), each album is an initiatory passage, a theosophical stage which narratively echoes the Iranian spiritual chivalry.
To finalize this journey, the musician must constantly assess the live restitution of an electronic piece which was thought within a studio. Hassan K. crafts his tools, bends or upgrades traditional eastern instruments (electric setar, sensors, robotized santoor) in order not to indefinitely linger within virtuality and to lead spectators towards a trance-like, intensively energetic live.

HOLY SIMILAUN (Italy)
https://ooh-sounds.bandcamp.com/album/holy-similaun-ansatz
Availability: On request
Territory: Europe + UK
Holy Similaun is Alberto Bertelli (b. 1996), an Italian musician and sound designer currently based in Treviso.
H—S operates under blurry skies, polluting semantic memories with augmented-nostalgia and a sense of failure of the collective, but managing to see a possible future through suburban fractures.
Far from being a mere technical exercise with an objective look, H—S emotionally dilates inside an intimate inner space as to want to reach a more intensive zone beyond – outside – standard perceptual thresholds.

DEREK MONYPENY (USA)
https://derekmonypeny.bandcamp.com/track/south-van-ness-vickie
Availability: January 2022 + late March 2022
Territories; Europe + UK
Born in the Arizona desert, a veteran of multiple explorations into the Sahara desert via Morocco and Western Sahara, and now a resident of the Mojave, Derek Monypeny sees his musical mission as adding to and expanding on what he calls the « desert continuum; » the psychedelic sirocco swirl of desert-based stringed instruments played with utter abandon by musicians the world over.
Derek is a former member of the bands Oaxacan (Oakland, CA), ALTO! (Portland, OR), and Sir Richard Bishop’s Freak Of Araby Ensemble. In addition to his solo work, he has an ongoing duo project with Bryan Hillebrandt, OAE (Oakland Afternoon Ensemble). He has performed and toured with artists such as Bill Orcutt, Jozef van Wissem, Eva Aguila/Kevin Shields, Arrington de Dionyso, and many others.
« Derek, using tastefully deployed effects and small and patient gestures, digs deep into those thin places where all kinds of inner space visions can flourish. You could talk about the complex social organization and communication among undiscovered species of highly intelligent insects deep under the sands of Mars…or any pulsing pattern of pure electricity hurtling somewhere through deep space…or shortwave radio broadcasts of the latest tunes by mutant Touareg troubadours roaming the dark side of the moon…etcetera. » -Larry Dolman, Blastitude
« Monypeny is best known as a member of Sir Richard Bishop’s travelling ensemble but here he makes a stake for a conception of the parameters of variously translated formal/cultural/biological folk modes as the keys to the goddamn kingdom that is every bit as persuasive as Sun City Girls at their most alien. » -David Keenan, Volcanic Tongue.

Thanks for reading.

I hope to hear from you soon.

ALL THE BEST.

Booking offers (2021 #17) Dear all, Please find here under some bands and musicians who are available for live concerts/ performances. I am booking some dates for them. Please feel free to contact me if you want to set up a concert/performance for one of them.
GRIFFIN BROWN (USA) https://griffinbrown.bandcamp.com/album/il-y-a Availability: From early September 2021 onwards
Territories: Europe + UK Griffin Brown is a composer, poet, songwriter+vocalist, drummer,
producer and multi-instrumentalist based in Brooklyn. His work
collides—and sometimes exists wholly inside of—idioms like classical,
jazz, electronic, experimental pop and rock, and improvised music.
He has performed and had music debuted in a variety of concert halls,
clubs, and basements: among many others, the Cornelia Street Café and
Miller Theatre in New York, Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library
and Morse Recital Hall in New Haven, CT, the Trocadero and World Café
Live in Philadelphia, La Schola Cantorum in Paris, the Baked Potato in
Los Angeles, festivals like highSCORE and next year’s impuls Festival in
Europe, and lots of houses in the path of the Northeast Corridor.
Griffin has been commissioned by institutions such as the Yale Center
for British Art and nascent new music groups alike; premieres and first
realizations include performances by Jeff Stern and Matt Keown of the
icarus Quartet, the Yale Symphony Orchestra, and numerous versions of
his own ensembles. Additionally, he is active on drums, vocals, and
keyboards throughout New York in groups both ad hoc and established. HEY EXIT (USA) https://heyexit.bandcamp.com/ Availability: From mid November onwards
Territories: Europe + UK Hey Exit is Brendan Landis, a composer and performer based in Queens,
NY. His work explores themes of animal folklore and symbolism, music as
spiritual practice, and contrasting extremes presented as necessary
oppposites. THE QUILL (Sweden) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9T85ZBH1dH0 Availability; 27th January 2022
Territory: Benelux Mighty Heavy rock, with bluesy « stoner » influences.
In their sound, which could be described as a modern 70’s, one can find
influences of bands like Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. HUUN-HUUR-TU (Russia) https://soundcloud.com/huunhuurtu Availability: 26th-30th September 2021
Territory: Europe + UK Huun-Huur-Tu (Tuvan: Хүн Хүртү Khün Khürtü, Russian: Хуун-Хуур-Ту) is a
music group from Tuva, a Russian Federation republic situated on the
Mongolian border.
The most distinctive characteristic of Huun Huur Tu’s music is throat
singing, in which the singers sing both the note (drone) and the drone’s
overtone(s), thus producing two or three notes simultaneously. The
overtone may sound like a flute, whistle or bird, but is actually solely
a product of the human voice.
The group primarily uses native Tuvan instruments such as the igil,
khomus (Tuvan jaw harp), doshpuluur, and dünggür (shaman drum). However,
in recent years, the group has begun to selectively incorporate western
instruments, such as the guitar. While the thrust of Huun Huur Tu’s
music is fundamentally indigenous Tuvan folk music, they also experiment
with incorporating not only Western instruments, but electronic music as
well. MIKEL ROUSE (USA) https://mikelrouse.bandcamp.com/ Availability:
Territories: Europe + UK Mikel Rouse is a New York-based composer, director, performer and
recording artist hailed as « a composer many believe to be the best of
his generation. » (NY Times 2002) His works include 25 records, 7 films

operas: Failing Kansas, Dennis Cleveland and The End Of Cinematics.
I hope to hear from you asap. All the best. Alain
